Local Forecast / Re: General LF Discussion
« on: January 13, 2015, 07:13:27 AM »
It seems TWC silently updated the Intellistar today or last night. The only major changes I can see so far, are to the radar. The Radar color looks softer, because they removed the shadow. Also, city labels have a white box around them making them easier to see, just like the National LF and WSI Max radars.

EDIT: I just checked, and the IS2 has also had a few changes done to the radar and sidebar. The radar has the new city labels and radar colors, but the radar animates much faster and smoother than before. Also, the sidebar now has a rain forecast that shows the forecasted amount of rain for the next day.

$1.92 in McAllen, TX, but they seem to have been way lower like $1.15.

General Discussion / Re: Straight Talk Wal-Mart
« on: December 29, 2014, 09:41:56 AM »
Disclaimer: I work at Walmart.

For what it is, Straight Talk is one of the better deals for wireless service out there. Unlimited talk and text, plus 3 GB full-speed data is pretty good for $45/month. If you compare that to AT&T or Verizon Prepaid, for example, you get a lot more full-speed data. IMO, their only downside is the customer service. They're owned by TracFone, and all of their tech support/customer service is overseas, many of which are difficult to understand. They all read from a script and will not budge if you have a problem. After dealing with many of the wireless companies on a daily basis, they're one of the more difficult companies to deal with.

With all the years I've had a TracFone, I've never had to use customer service.  Completely satisfied with TraceFone.
TracFone is a great company for getting started in the Mobile phone world or if you want a budget, low-cost carrier. I have had issues with Customer service once or twice as the sort-of friendly representatives. (I asked for a new SIM card, and ended up Paying them 5 dollars for a free SIM card) Overall tracfone is a good company.

As far as I Know, the Sidebar has been disabled on all IS2s nationwide to display national travel data as many are flying home for the holidays.

Is anyone's local sidebar working? Mine isn't and the national one is only showing airport information and nothing else.

:wow: Dang they're expensive! Now I can see why an average person doesn't own a system like this. Why do they have to be soooooooo expensive? I can only imagine what Baron Services Charges
I also wanted a WSI system, but now I know how much it costs. If anyone knows a WAY cheaper alternative, please tell me.
