Well, I'm finished with the test. I'll get my results in about a month. I'm hoping I passed everything.  8)

I've got a cold, too.. Aparently the whole back to school / work thing does this to alot of people at this time of year.. sigh.

Yup. Its only natural that it happens. People cough, sneeze, etc. in buildings occupied by hundreds of people. Germs spread faster than fire.

Anywho, I took the Math and Science portions of the GED test tonight, and both were relatively easy. Tomorrow I take the remaining portions (English, Reading, Soc. Studies), and then in a month or two I'll get the results, and (hopefully) my high school diploma.  8)

It's 100% real. I haven't announced it here yet though because there may be some changes made to it, because as I told Kyle, its not exactly what I had in mind.

Yeah somewhere on your laptop there is a light that indicates that it is charging. As furball said, it will stay on while the battery is charging and go off when it is finished.

Well I did. :D It was the first tropical system to gain that much strength so fast. Humberto was a depression earlier this morning to a borderline CAT 1-2 hurricane in the early afternoon.

It never got close to Cat 2.

TWC Today News / Posting songs
« on: September 13, 2007, 11:11:19 PM »
Alright, it occured to me that I probably ought to lay out some rules regarding what can and can't be posted as far as music is concerned, since there appears to be alot of confusion about it. So, here are the guidelines:

What you may post:

-Links to any site LEGALLY offering clips/full songs-there are many of these, such as freeplaymusic.com and others that legally have full songs from independent artists. It is fine to post links to these sites, or to share with us clips OR full length songs from such sites.

-2:00 or less clips-you may post clips of ANY song so long as the clip is no longer than 2 minutes.

What you may NOT post:

-Links to any site ILLEGALLY offering full length songs. If it is not the site of an artist or that of an independent music service, then chances are it is not legal and will not be permitted.

-Full length songs-sharing full length songs is illegal. However, as stated above you may post clips.

-Sharing of ANY music obtained illegally, be it through a website, or a service such as Bearshare, Kazaa, Limewire, etc.

In addition, conversations regarding the illegal procurement of music will not be permitted.

These rules are NOT all encompassing. Situations will be evaluated on an individual basis, and action will be taking at the administrations discretion.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Trust me, there's nothing wrong with it. Nor is there anything wrong with Stephen's.

I doubt there's anythign wrong with it. He probably just needs to drain it completley and then charge it completley, and then charge it completely every time he has to recharge it. But also be sure that the battery is fully drained before charging it fully.

In Vista, if you click the battery icon in the system tray, you can set it to "Power Saver" to save some battery life. There is also a link on that popup for the "Windows Mobility Center" there you can set things like the Display Brightness. If you put that on the lowest setting when on battery power, you can save some battery life because the LCD back-lightning doesn't have to be on full-strength.

Also, you can change some power things in Control Panel > Power Settings. There you can change around all of the power settings, again like display brightness, when the computer goes to sleep, and when the computer display shuts off.

Also, if you don't need to be online when on battery power, some laptops have the option to turn off the wireless signal; wireless uses a lot of power.
Thanks for those tips, Billy. B)

One tip though: are you certain your charging the battery 100% fully? you've always got to do that to maximize the battery.
Nope, but very close, around 98 or 99 percent.

That extra percent won't make much difference in terms of extending the legnth of time your battery can run, BUT you do need to charge all the way to 100 percent EVERY TIME, because partial charges (even to 98%) will KILL that battery in the blink of an eye.

Nope, that's about normal.  8)
Really? I thought laptop batteries could go up to 2-3 hours on one charge. Then again, I've never owned a laptop before, so I'm not an expert at this. ;)

You'd be lucky to get three hours out of any battery. 2 is a possibility, but 1 is the norm. That's why when I use mine around the house I use an AC adapter as opposed to the battery.

You may post links to LEGAL mp3's. Those are legal, and so not a problem to post.
