General Discussion / Re: Do/did you like School?

High school is becoming too much for me. I don't know wether to drop out or not,
Don't drop out. :)

Agreed.Tough it out. It'll be worth it when its over.

Al, I'm not offended because I know you have a habit of running your mouth without having any clue what your talking about.

And, just so your clear, there are many good reasons for dropping out.

First off I wasn't directly pointing the finger at you...I know people drop out, for personal reasons...secondly care to explain why you even went to school for elementary...then for junior school to then just drop out of high school and have those years wasted? Using your parents as an excuse is not void. that post wasn't meant to be put in a rude way, though after re-reading it, it did sound rude.

I apologize if my post sounded rude to anyone.

I didn't use my parents as an excuse for anything. I dropped out because of my own reasons (which I've already mentioned AND WILL NOT repeat again). I dropped out because the school system failed to educate me. I could not graduate with my class because of my school's and school system's failures, and I wasn't going to graduate with any class other than mine. When you get older and more mature you'll understand the logic behind this.

who said you did? I figured some smart ass would say something "my parents" made me...I'm not sure why it looks as though you're yelling at me, but I'm trying to put my post in a nice way...if you can't see that...surely I don't belong here.

My parents had no effect on my decision. It was based personally on my own values and beliefs. Al, I needn't tell you that no one is keeping you here. Just ask Dan and Gil.

Thunder, I don't know what's going on. Maybe Stephen did it?

I noticed some of my posts were removed, none the less Gary I know exactly what you mean, I was faced with a similar issue, I had/have a learning dissability on top of that which made it even more difficult. I dropped out for a few months in Grade 10 due to this, returning a few months after.

Who removed your posts? It sure wasn't me.

Gary, the video I posted is from Marlton, NJ, not Mount Holly:

Here is the Bensalem, PA IntelliStar:

I put Mount holly because that's where the Current Conditions on your LF came from.

I graduated in the early 90s...

Well maybe things were different in the 80's then. Obviously things weren't like they were in the mid-late nineties and early 00's when I was in my middle and high school years.

I didn't mean to sound rude or anything. I was just curious. Isn't that the point of school? To work hard and get good grades? As for harrassment and bullying, i don't see why a visit to the principle couldnt fix that. But then again, maybe things have changed.

What decade did you go to school in? These days (since the 90's) a trip to the principle is about useless. IF your lucky enough to find the principle. Yes, the point of school is to work hard and get good grades, and IMO to graduate with those you began school with, not some class of strangers. Graduation, IMO, is much more meaningful with your own class.

Like???

Like the inability to graduate with your class for reasons beyond your control. I'll be damned if I'm working my ass off all those years to graduate with some other class. As you can see, that was why I dropped out. Other good reasons include being harassed/bullied in such a way that it makes it impossible for you to come to school and learn. We all have a right to learn in a safe and orderly school, and when that can't happen, its as good a reason as any to drop out and pursue an alternate means of earning a diploma.

Need I say more, my furry friend?

The best answer for me would be sometimes. I liked school during my K-5 years, but once I got into middle school, school lost its luster. And, obviously, by the time I got to high school I ended up calling it quits. And while that wasn't a good decision, it was the right one.

Its not that their not installed, rather I think when you see that i think its because the person used the TWCC equivalent of that emoticon, instead of using ours.  There its :thrilled:, here its :woot:.
