Everything Else TWC / Re: Jumped the Shark?
« on: December 14, 2007, 10:52:14 PM »
IMO, TWC jumped the shark in late 2004, when they added a bunch of extra screens to their IntelliStar system. They also started rearranging the OCM schedule around that time, and started making all of the programming the same, unlike before where all the programming had different segments. That was also when they really started making such big deals over little storms.

My new slogan for TWC: "The Global Warming Enthusiasts" or "Bringing Overhypness to Life"

All that stuff pales in comparison to the bigger things TWC did. Frankly, the OCM schedules don't make a difference to me, and they don't make a difference in the quality of the programming. Are there certain OCM's that are arguably better than others? Sure. But personally, I don't care about who presents the weather, just as long as someone's doing it, and as long as its being done more often than long form programs are shown. Same for the addition of screens to the Intellistar. It doesn't take anything away from the programming, nor from what their original vision was.

the tuner I bought cost about $60, and is good quality.

That's relatively reasonable, but realistically you don't even have to spend that much to get a decent tuner.

Apparently. And apparently he's of the belief (as you were) that expensive=better.  :whistling:

Unfortunately, doing it one cell at a time is the best way I know of. I too would be interested in hearing of a better way of doing it. That's why I don't want to do it myself. I had to go through that trouble once.

And what did I tell you? I'm not looking to add more playlists yet. I need to replace all the playlists I currently have before I add new ones.

Good, that makes things easier. If I can get playlists from 2000 on in that format, that would be great.

Yes, Gil has asked me to post quite a few things for him. I don't mind doing it, though.

Gil is banned, so there's no way he could have posted it. He must of sent it to someone else.

IMO, when someone is not welcome at a forum, that means their input isn't welcome either. What makes people think that they should still be allowed to contribute to a forum they've been asked to leave?

Yeah, that's a fake. Not sure who posted it, but it couldn't be Gil. He's not supposed to be at TWCC.
Chances are, it was Gil. I mean, why would Gil's name be on the playlist? And most, if not all the songs on the list are Gil's favorites. I don't ever remember it being posted over at TWCC, but he could've slid it in before he was perma. banned.

Oh I have no doubt its Gil's playlist, but unless it was an old post, I don't see how Gil could've posted it. IMO, the likely culprit is one of Gil's pals, i.e. Mike, Kyle, people like that who are still on friendly terms with him. I know from my own experience that he's always asking someone to post something for him.
