In regards to smoking, I am all for public smoking bans. Cigarette smoke gives me a terrible sore throat. Having non-smoking sections is just not good enough. The ventilation system spreads the smoke around the whole building. Fortunately, no one in my immediate family smokes (and I won't date a girl that does if I can help it), so I needn't worry when I'm not in public.

In a thunderstorm cell that shape would be worrisome. But in this scenario, its simply the rotation of the precipitation associated with a low pressure system. Such rotation is always counter-clockwise here in the northern hemisphere.

No, it does not appear in iTunes nor in Device Manager. I did the restart thing suggested by Martin, and that seems to have done the trick!

Alright, I need some help from the iPod experts amongst us. I got an iPod Nano (2nd Gen) for free a couple of days ago, and I'm having a little trouble with it. I've installed iTunes on my laptop, and yesterday I purchased a USB charging/transfer cable at Wal-Mart. However, when I plug the iPod into my laptop, nothing happens. I thought maybe the USB ports on the laptop weren't powerful enough, so I also tried everything on the desktop, with the same result. The iPod shows that it's charging, so the cable evidently isn't the problem. Is there something else I have to do to get the computer and/or iTunes to recognize the Nano?

account accidentally got deleted just days after she joined? What the hell are Matt's criteria for account deletion? And how exactly DO you accidentally delete a person's account? My theory: someone thought she was an imposter and booted her.

I wouldn't have bothered to rejoin either quite frankly. If I had been fed that excuse I'd have thought it was a pretty damn weak one.

Oh, and that's a prime example of why I don't do account deletions here. It's conceited, and makes you look pretty bad if you screw it up.

According to this, Tyler was doing account deletions for people who had less than 1 post. Jeanne had 1 post, but it somehow got deleted along with the other accounts. Either: 1) there was a flaw in the IPB software or 2) he accidentally included people with 1 post in the search (but didn't realize it), which resulted in her account being deleted.

Well, since it was Tyler, not Matt, I'm not going to continue this any further. Tyler's the one I happen to like. If it were Matt's doing I'd bitch some more.

Jeanne got banned from TWC Classics? That's odd, to say the least.
