The next OT post in this thread will earn it a nice shiny lock.

No, we are using the old one. I like the idea. It saves forum space and reduces clutter.

hey, don't we already move the clocks ahead next Sunday??? Man, spring is pretty much here already!

I have major standardized tests in school next week. I LOVE LIFE!

Yep DST starts next Sunday!  :sunglasses:

Yeah Mike, we're just going to use the same thread over. When you think about it Gil is right. It saves space and lessens clutter.

Yeah I'm psyched about spring. I don't have any allergies so bring on the pollen, ragweed etc.!  :P

Everything Else TWC / Re: Volvo flatters TWC
« on: March 01, 2008, 11:21:43 AM »
I meant to bring this up when I first saw it a few weeks ago, but there's a Volvo SUV ad out there now that features a mock weather forecast with the fake "OCM" forecasting good performance by the SUV in the wintry weather, resulting in "a lot of togetherness".

At the very end of the commercial, the "OCM" ends by saying, "Now, your Local Forecast."

I've seen that commercial! I didn't pick up on the fact that it was a mock of TWC though until I read this.  :thrilled:

Well everyone, the Pot Belly Stove's days are numbered. Just a mere 19 days till spring and The Front Porch return.

However, it is currently locked, which means that only one of us admins or mods can open it back up again. Sorry Mike. I know how much you love to start our seasonal threads.  :P

It's because you guys are mods.
Ah, okay. That also explains why I can post in locked topics.
Yep.

General Discussion / Re: How to boot off of other HD partition?
« on: February 29, 2008, 11:07:08 PM »
I don't know then. It shoulda booted from the recovery partition. I very seldom come in contact with machines set up with a recovery partition, so I'm not sure what to tell ya.

I tried repeatedly to remove those tags in Dreamweaver (that's the editor I use) but it simply replaces them every time. I don't get it.

Is XP still on the machine? If so, you need to boot from the XP CD. Then, it should ask if you want to install XP or repair a current installation with the Recovery Console. Choose install XP, press F8 at the agreement screen, and then it should ask if you want to install a fresh copy of XP, or repair the current installation. This time, repair, This is not the same as the prior repair request, as the RC is not used. You'll go through the same process as with a clean isntall, only it'll take half the time, and instead of starting from scratch, its going to replace the XP files already on your machine. This should take care of your booting problem. Once you get XP up again getting Vista off is relatively simple. I'll save that part for when you do get XP up.
