High schools don't teach meteorology.

What makes you think they're from a class? Could be a club. I was in a "Weather Explorer's" club in high school.

Their shirts are what's leading me to believe that.

* UNTIL MIDNIGHT EST TONIGHT

* PERIODS OF RAIN WILL OCCUR THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING ALONG THE BALTIMORE WASHINGTON CORRIDOR. THE HEAVIEST RAIN IS FORECAST TO FALL DURING THE EVENING RUSH HOUR. ONE TO ONE AND A HALF INCH AMOUNTS ARE EXPECTED THROUGH MIDNIGHT...WITH LOCAL AMOUNTS UP TO TWO INCHES.

At least not when I went to high school they didn't. 

Of course, that was before meterology even existed.
