General Discussion / Re: WeatherStar Junior Emulator?
« on: March 01, 2009, 04:07:19 PM »
Maybe I wasn't clear yesterday. Nothing has been done. The project has not, for all intents and purposes, even begun yet. That's why I decided to house the WxScan emulator. I figured if the Jr. wasn't going anywhere, then I ought to bring in a project that is active. And I'm glad I did. Its been a big time attraction.

Sooo...I thought everyone said they were done with TWCC after Matt's latest stunt? Apparently there's one person here who doesn't feel that way... :whistling:

The only shows that I remember watching on Cartoon Network were Scooby Doo, Dexters Lab, Cow and Chicken, Courage the Cowardly Dog, a Pup named Scooby Doo, Tom and Jerry.  That's pretty much all I can remember.  I was a Nickelodeon kid.
Yep, those were great cartoons! It's pretty much the same for Nick too, but at least they devoted Nicktoons Network to the old cartoons.
Agreed. Those were great shows :) Luckely, Comcast supports the Nicktoons Network, so I can watch all of the older shows that I love.

Yeah, only if you have the expanded digital package, which I refuse to pay for.  <_<

General Weather Chat / Re: Major East Coast Storm?
« on: March 01, 2009, 03:19:25 PM »
Well, it looks like we don't have to worry about if there's enough moisture for this storm based on the radar images over the past few hours.  It's all a matter of whether there will be enough cold air to force the precipitation to stay all snow for the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast to support the winter storm warnings in effect.  I can tell that we're in for a really long night just by all the excitement on this forum today.

Oh yeah, its definitely gonna be a long night. We really haven't had a chance to get into winter storm mode yet this year!  :D

TWC's currently forecasting 6-12" for my area.

When it comes to big storms, I have trouble putting much faith in TWC's forecast. They've been notorious for blowing forecast big time. I'll wait and see what the local weather people say this evening.  :D

Me too. Gimme Doug, Rugrats, Hey Arnold, and Rocko.

What time does this cartoon come on?

LOL, I know how you feel Jesse. Although, in this particular case, I don;t mind the snow. We haven't seen much snow this year, so my tolerance hasn't been spent yet!  :D

Sounds good Mike! I'm thinking of posting some 4000 emulator clips during the event.

According to that model most of the big cities are looking at at least 8-10 inches.

Winter Storm Watches have already been issued here in MD and will go into effect tomorrow afternoon. Tough by then I expect warnings, not watches.

Soooo...how is it that there's little to nothing going on at TWCC, yet Lightning continues to find ways to plaster the entire forum with posts? At some point you've got to draw the line and realize you can only talk to yourself so much before there's nothing more to say. And other member's have to draw the line too. I mean, in many cases he's bumping months old topics for no real reason at all.

I'm glad he doesn't come around these parts too much. I'm not sure how much of that guy I could take.  :D :P

So, let me see if I understand this correctly. You all are griping about a somewhat explicit cartoon that airs in Adult Swim, correct? Did you ever consider WHY its called Adult Swim? Because the cartoons featured are not for children. If you don't like the cartoon, simply don't watch it, or any of the Adult Swim cartoons.

Nooooooooo... I mean on CARTOON NETWORK, the thing that's on BEFORE adult swim, that channel with shows designed for kids?? That channel is what were "griping" about for having inapproiate material and little kids watch those new shows

Watch the attitude.

My opinion remains unchanged. If you don't like what's on, don't watch it.  :whistling:

NAM and GFS are painting a nice picture. The 00nz runs shows much more snow for my area than earlier. TWC predictions earlier seems ridiculous but now seem to fit in just nice.

The latest models also indicate it will strengthen and stay closer to the coast meaning more snow  :worship:

If that's the case then I think those snowfall estimates are very low.

I personally don't see anything more than six inches coming.

Based on?

The project's forums are still here, and the project hasn't been declared dead yet. But the fact is, Kyle (wxmancanada, the creator) is very busy with his work and other things and really doesn't seem to have much free time to work on an emulator project. So while it isn't officially dead, there's no indication at this point that anything's going to get done in the foreseeable future.
