Local Forecast / Re: Travel Cities
« on: March 03, 2009, 08:47:52 PM »
Cleveland, State College, and Elkins WV (a stupid pick IMO. why would anyone go there?)

Toms River, NJ; Cape May, NJ; Philadelphia, PA; Wilmington, DE..

You can only have 3 travel cities.

Agreed. If they wanted a W.Va city they could've chosen a better known one like say Charleston, or a bigger one like Martinsburg.

I agree about Sam Mohr. Frankly, I think the best place for her is outside the front door.

General Discussion / Re: Another Day, Another Dumb 911 Call
« on: March 03, 2009, 08:37:15 PM »
Good grief!  Has this Floridian ever heard of contacting the manager of the McDonald's instead of dialing 911?  Furthermore, why would she be complaining about not getting her precious McNuggets when there's a better fast food chain for chicken nuggets nearby like Chick-Fil-A?

Or Wendy's.  :P

Yeah, that woman was dumb. You ask for the manager, you don't call 911.

Programming and Graphics / Re: Major schedule changes on the way
« on: March 03, 2009, 12:54:54 PM »
I wouldn't be surprised if these segments phase out over the next year or so. Look at what happened to Weekend View - that started falling apart after Stephanie left. A&B also started going downhill in early 2008 when they got rid of many segments such as the Audience Barometer, etc. First Outlook also had a lot of individuality (including it's own professional set!) but a lot of its special features were gone not long before the HD relaunch. It was even more unique before 2003. Same with Weekend Now. The list goes on...

It seems that a show always starts out great and unique, but then it just starts falling apart. Go figure.
I agree....don't forget Your Weather Today....the may not have had many "special" segments but that individual feeling is gone

How so? The show really hasn't changed much since its inception....

Wow, that's really great rughster! Congratulations!

Al, textbooks and tuition are the bulk of what college students need. And those things are not influenced by the economy. Tuition is decided by the government (in cases of the big state universities), or in cases of smaller colleges by the people who run the college. Textbook prices have always been highway robbery, regardless of whether the economy has been good or bad.

Then there's housing. If its on campus housing, the college decides how much to charge, another decision independent of the economy.

Trust me Al, I've been around the block a time or two.  B)

Programming / Favorite classic slogan
« on: March 03, 2009, 10:07:40 AM »
Which of TWC's classic slogans is your favorite? To refresh your memory, the slogans were:

-You Need Us For Everything You Do
-Weather You Can Always Turn To
-No Place on Earth Has Better Weather
-Weather Fans, Your Not Alone

My favorite is Weather You Can Always Turn To. It's the first one I ever saw (started watching in 92), and there were alot of big weather events during that time period (like Andrew and the 93 Super Storm).

First off with the economy.  It is getting really bad.  So bad, to where I cannot go to my dream college :(  I have to go to community college, and then transfer out.   I am not too sadened, because at least I am going to college.  My parents keep getting hours cut at work, which worries them, and myself.  My aunt just lost her job.

Second- about pictures on TV, ect.  I think that these news outlets are trying to become more interactive with technology.  A local news station is doing the same thing TWC is doing, the twitter thing.  It's interesting.

I'm not sure why your tying college to the economy, because there's really no connection. Things like tuition and textbooks are through the roof regardless of what shape the economy is in.

3-4 tops. The bump isn't that big yet.

Yeah, 3-4 sounds reasonable, if she was 5 or 6 months she would be bigger.

Yeah, but just think about the fact that most women don't start showing until they're about 5 months pregnant..I'm guessing she's about 6 months or close to it....

But she's not really showing. She's still wearing regular clothes!  :whistling:

Local Forecast / Need 90's playlists
« on: March 02, 2009, 08:15:58 PM »
I am working on posting past TWC playlists on the site as part of TWCT's expansion into classic TWC. Therefore, I am in need of playlists from the 90's. If you have any you can post, I would really appreciate it.
