Its ok to run cables that way, but you HAVE to use jacks. You just can't run cable through people's walls like that.

I was going by what an ex-Comcast tech told me.

Well, I work in the cable headend / MDS here in Ottawa. We have a digital / analog system and we have 4 hubs that carry almost 80 HD channels, including onDemand content.

I can tell you from experience that 75% (if not more) of Comcast's techs, current and past, are about as smart as a tree. IOW, a little caution is to be recommended when it comes to what they say.

I'm actually excited about this. I might get to see my first tropical action of the year, and thankfully its only a minor storm, so damage or loss of life shouldn't be an issue.

Nothing will happen with the channel, it would be incredibly stupid for NBC to change anything aside from management, which from what I've heard is all thats planned.

I've been saying that all along, but that makes me an optimist. Come to think of it, when I say something negative everybody yells that I'm a pessimist. I guess you just can't please all of the people all of the time.

This is Comcast's big problem. Most of their systems are severely outdated, and are non-digital, or only partially digital. They need all-digital systems to add all the HD channels.

Not nessisarly, they can have an analog / digital dual band system, and still have HD channels.
