Here in the MD that's not necessarily true. I'm NOT registered to vote and I was summonsed. I later found out that they, in fact, go by driver's licenses here.

Some people have all the luck. I had JUST turned 21 when I got summonsed.

They said the reason was one Allegheny County record had her middle name a "A" and the other as "Anne" (so in essence, they thought there were two of her living!). For the "inconvenience," they relieved her from both dates.
LOL, that's our great justice system for ya.
But, whatever gets you out of jury duty.
Technically Mike, you are unless you have a valid reason, which has to be determined by the judge when you write the court with your excuse.

I got summonsed last year. I just told 'em I had no transportation and had to care for my younger brother (both of which were true) and I was excused from duty.
