The thief is our very own Alex, whom I don't think is a thief at all.
What?

The guy the folks at TWCC are accusing of taking this latest video is, I believe, Alex. And I don't think he's taking people's videos.

Looks like they found another stolen video and failed to inform us once again.

Joke's on Devon though. The thief is our very own Alex, whom I don't think is a thief at all.

I've just been reminded of two reasons I dont like posting these threads: one, there's always someone whose gotta respond with red faced emoticons and an outburst of anger, and two, once you get people started they want to find anyone they can accuse of thievery. Maybe if you didn't spend your days looking.....

General Discussion / Re: NBC Weather Plus Discussion
« on: September 16, 2008, 07:46:48 PM »
WeatherPlus is going absolutely nowhere. NBC has invested too much in it, as well as pretty much all the local affiliates. If anything, Weatherscan is getting the axe.

Nope, that won't happen.

Hmm... I wonder if some upgrade was sent to my cable box. I noticed that when I start my cable box, it now starts at the channel I last watched before I turned the box off, instead of always starting on channel 8. This is odd. I never changed the settings, nor did I know this feature was available before.

Anyone else had this happen to their box?
My box has been that way since digital came out in the 90's. Had no idea they could program the box to tune to a certain channel upon powering on.

LOL Gil, I've actually pressed that button accidentally more times than I can count. I do indeed find it quite annoying.

That's only one part of the problem.

Neither one has anything particularly great in mind, that I've heard.
So what can we do to get rid of this recession? I can't stand living in an economy like this much longer, nor can anyone else.

I'm no economist, so I'm probably not fit to answer this question. What I do know is that there is a bottom and it will eventually be reached and things will eventually turn around. What needs to be done (or can be done) I don't know.

General Discussion / Re: NBC Weather Plus Discussion
« on: September 16, 2008, 03:19:58 PM »
With the acquisition of TWC by NBC Universal, we might as well discuss it. KXAS-TV here in Dallas/Fort Worth has it on Channel 5.2. I would love to see NBC WX+ integrated into Weatherscan.
Not me. I don't like WeatherPlus, and Weatherscan undoubtedly has higher ratings than WeatherPlus. Heck, I don't even know anyone who watches WX+. Besides, TWC is suppose to operate as one separate channel, meaning no merges or anything like that.

If Weatherscan is discontinued, that would greatly affect me. You hardly see any beach, gardening, or health forecasts on TWC anymore, do you? Weatherscan is much more convenient for me as far as local weather is concerned rather than TWC.

I'm pretty sure that WeatherPlus will simply cease operations. If TWC would accept NBC's offer back in 2002, WeatherPlus would never had existed. But TWC declined, and thus NBC launched their own channel to compete. But now that they own the more successful TWC and Weatherscan, there's no need for them to have WeatherPlus anymore.

I don't see WxPlus being ceased anytime soon either. I think things will continue on just as they've been.

Interestingly, this morning I heard on the news that the Maryland Attorney General is investigating whether there is price gouging going on in this state. Many beleive there is, and I'm one of them.

We are in a financial turmoil not seen since the Great Depression. President Bush tries his best to sugarcoat things, but this is not good. Not good at all. If AIG falls we will enter a second Great Depression. The stock market will surely crash to the floor. The Fed should not have brought interest rates down so low. Doing so has eroded the value of the dollar greatly. Further, each time one of these giants falls it puts hundreds of people out of work, worsening the unemployment problem. The only good news right now is that oil and gas are plummeting. This will surely help the economy a little, but its problems are so great right now that any benefit from oil and gas will be minimal. Just recently my father changed banks, from Washington Mutual to Suntrust, fearing that Washington Mutual may (and it looks like it very well may) collapse.

This is definitely a financial crisis like none we've seen in many, many years.

I think we're being severely gouged right now. Gas and oil are BOTH at rock bottom yet prices are through the ceiling. I realize that some refineries are down, but that doesn't call for this kind of spike in prices.

Btw Gary, could I put in a request for one on a weekend?

I'm just so busy with school since I'm too gifted. :pinch:

Your gifted? God bless this great country of ours.

I'll see if I can schedule around your giftedness.
I'm gifted at school. :itsok:
But I'm not gifted on forums. I'm actually a very angry person in real life. :whateva:

I believe that. Don't ask why though. Nothing you've ever done would ever give me that idea.  :whistling:
