General Weather Chat / Re: Winter Predictions

I think Winter Conditions will happen in the winter, in some place other than Phoenix.

Yeah, you usually don't get wintry conditions there.  :P

General Weather Chat / Winter Predictions
« on: September 17, 2008, 12:34:22 PM »
As we enter into the final days of summer, its becoming time to look ahead to cooler temperatures and even (yikes!) snow. So how does everyone think this winter will unfold? Will it be cold or mild? Will there be snow, or none?

My thoughts for winter in my area are as follows. Judging by how summer was a bit on the cool side (I don't think the temp ever climbed above 95), I think we're going to have a cool and snowy winter. We're already expecting to see temps perhaps in the 40's tonight, and we're still in September!

Should be fixed.
Hmm, just cleared my cache and the page appears to be unchanged.

Try again. Should be good now. Clear your cache again if need be.  :sunglasses:
Ok, fixed. I think I know what the problem was. I was viewing the "lat48s3.html" page, which was the old one. The new one is "lot48s3.html".

Yeah. I'm guessing you clicked the link on the front page (as opposed to the one in the Videos section) which was linked to the wrong page, as you have described.

On the third LAT48s page that was just put up, the title says "TWC|Today-Avatars" and the top of the page says "LOCAL ACROSS THE 48s Third Edition- October 8, 2007", neither of which seem to be right.

Thanks for pointing that out. I'll fix it now.

So I'm thinking of ordering some USGS topo maps to hang up on my wall here at school as opposed to posters.

Its your room. You should hang whatever makes you happy.

General Weather Chat / Re: 2008 Retired Hurrricane Names
« on: September 16, 2008, 11:27:29 PM »
Because TWC has trained people to make mountains out of molehills.
TWC doesn't retire the names, the National Hurricane Center does.

I didn't say they did. All I said is that they've brainwashed people into making a big deal out of even the smallest of storms (in response to those who say storms like Dolly will be retired). I'm very well aware of how this works Squizz. Trust me on that. I've been into this since long before you were even born.

General Discussion / Re: NBC Weather Plus Discussion
« on: September 16, 2008, 11:13:21 PM »
Sorry, but I'm differing with all three of you. There's a reason no upgrades have been made since the announcement that NBC was "interested" in TWC (and yes, there were a few minor tweaks planned). However, they have yet to be developed because the future of Weatherscan is on "thin ice." I'll leave it at that.

We'll see Tyler. For some reason some people just can't come to grips with the fact that no major changes are coming from this buyout.
Was that rolleyes directed towards me? Because I surly didn't deserve it. :itsok:

Yes, but not exclusively. It was directed at you and everyone else who can't get off of this "something major's gotta happen" thing.

Just heard on the news that the government has bailed AIG out. Another financial giant has fallen.

RANDOM

Tina Fay and Sara Palin resemble each other...a lot

Yeah that's all they've been talking about on TV. I heard today that Palin says she dressed up as Tina Fey for Halloween one year. How ironic is that!  :D

The guy the folks at TWCC are accusing of taking this latest video is, I believe, Alex. And I don't think he's taking people's videos.

What I read at TWCC was that Alex was a victim, not the theif.

UPDATE:
New video stolen with a twc clip in the background.

Emulator: gt1racer
TWC Clip: TWCFanChris

Looks like you may have misread that post (if that's what you were talking about). He was saying the emulator part of that clip belonged to Alex, not that the theif of the video was Alex. ;)

I didn't misread, I misunderstood.
