TWC Today News / Re: To The Creative Amongst Us

Just a couple of reminders I wanted to throw out there. First, the contest ends in just five days, so if you'd like to submit a design but haven't you might want to do it soon!

Second, I just want to remind all the entrants that if your design wins you will need to give to me everything needed to make the site functional, like buttons, menus, etc. I'm sure everyone probably knows that, but I wanted to play it safe and make sure.

Help and Support / Re: Runtime Error
« on: November 07, 2008, 02:44:12 PM »
So, I WAS running the program on my laptop, so I thought I'd give it a try on my desktop PC. Same result. I get the error at the same point that Billy said he did. I've been through the points on your checklist Martin, and everything checks out. I don't use Vista, I've installed the program again on an entirely different PC, I don't have any security program blocking it, and my affiliate ID has been set.

I REALLY want to use this, and eventually get a permanent key, but you guys gotta fix this issue first, whatever it is. If you all didn't run the program long enough than you need to do that, or else you'll never see the error.

Doesn't or didn't TWCC use that one?

Sorry, but I won't recycle someone else's creation.

You only posted this update a few days ago. Have some patience.

Personally, I didn't like that you removed the local radar for this. I like the sat/rad as much as the next guy, but not at the expense of the local radar. It should either be added without subtracting anything or not added at all, IMO.

I would have to go along with that theory. Maybe they were both ill or something, and TWC couldn't get anyone in to fill in for them in a moment's notice.

Whilst I'm very happy that you did that, I seriously have doubts about them being able to tell us anything. That commercial is 12 years old!

It sounds very familiar indeed, though I can't quite put my finger on what it was used for. I don't think it was ever an LF tune. Sounds like maybe it was a theme for a show or special.

Thanks, Martin! And OK, we don't wanna see Gary throwing up all over the place here. I'll ceast and desist on the dancing.

My stomach thanks you.  :P :rofl2:

I've always felt that Mark Mancuso would be an ideal replacement. He's certainly got the experience and he's one of the few original OCM's that still remain at TWC. IMO, he's in a real crappy timeslot right now and deserves much better.

Too expensive for me AND I also don't have an HDTV yet. When prices drop I'll get both.

Everything Else TWC / Trammell or a striking resemblance?
« on: November 06, 2008, 09:31:32 PM »
I found an interesting video clip on Youtube earlier today. Its a commercial from 1996 for Rite Aid. It seems that the background tune sounds almost EXACTLY like Better Than Nothing by Trammell Starks. It's interesting because I had been having a memory of a commercial from about that time that had a background tune that sounded like Trammell, but I thought it was a Sprint commercial, not Rite Aid.

Anyway, take a listen for yourself:

Now, you have the best chance to listen in the first few seconds, as after that vocals come in as does a narrator. Does that not sound like Trammell?

I have a feeling we'll just be seeing KRob on YWT Monday and Tuesday and Bill from Wednesday-Friday until something is worked out.
Either that, or whoever is supposed to take Marshall's place is going to start on Monday.

I would go with that. It wouldn't make sense (to me at least) to start the new person midweek.
