I like it. It certainly does convey the message I want to convey.

Anyone else?

Ok, now that we've got the site design fiasco figured out (for the most part) I need everyone's ideas for a slogan. This time, I'm not putting the matter to a vote. I'll select the one I like the best. Originality and creativity are musts. I will not recycle another site's slogans.

There is no time limit. When I find a slogan I like, that will be it.

I would have to figure out how I'm going to do this whole nav thing for IE because the menu system doesn't work for it at all... The workarounds aren't working either, so I'm going to have to resort to PHPifying something to hide the menu system for IE browsers and showing it for other browsers. This would mean for IE users, I would have to make a list on the main page. I just don't know how I'm gonna fix this. This is the only thing stopping me.
Hmmm...I wish I knew how to help...but that's just about beyond the scope of my knowledge. My PHP knowledge is pretty basic at best.
I'm keeping that in my mind while I PHPize the design so you can add pages as simple as possible.

Also, we still need to hold that contest for the new slogan for TWC Today, which hasn't been done yet.

Yes, the slogan. Forgot about that.

Gentlemen, if you read Martin's letter to the newbies and my response you'll see that I DID read the instructions and did what was asked, Some of us newbies actually DO follow instructions, however the only reply from him was here in the forum addressed to the newbies, so I assumed he was including me as he had not replied to my PM sent on 11/12.

I feel the need to defend myself as I DID FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS, I run a radio message board out of Utah and I understand how frustrating newbies can be. I guess if I don't hear from Martin in a few weeks I'll send a request to the Brian

Waiting...

I didn't single you out. In fact, I didn't even come close to implicating you. In fact, newbies in general are hardly the target of my messages. There are a few particular eggheads I had in mind that have a hard time understanding what their told, and I figured it was those people that were the culprits of most of the PM's.

Still, the message is the same to everyone. Please abide by the rules. If the rules say to PM Martin or Brian ONCE, then do it only once. If it says you can do it again if they don't respond, do it only ONCE MORE. Realize that Martin and Brian have other obligations outside of this forum and project. I have no problem with people PM'ing within the guidelines that were set out. What I'm trying to stop are the people that PM these guys about every problem, every ocurrence, every little issue, 10-15 times a day. Those kind of things need to be posted on this forum. If you post here to get a key, don't follow that post with a PM. You get the idea.

Nicole automatically gets the anchor spot because of tradition/Kim not having the "status" to host the show.

Tradition, yes. But status? Really?

Alright, after much agonizing, and a few feeble attempts of my own to create a new look for the site, I've changed my mind yet again in regards to which direction I'm going for a new design.

Let me first say that this may offend some people, but that's just going to have to be the way it is. The bottom line is that this is my site, and I have to do what I feel is in its best interest, even if it means overriding a democratically reached decision.

Sometimes these votes turn out such that it would be detrimental to the site to move forward with the decision reached. I believe this is one of those times. While I believe with every ounce of my heart that everyone's designs were superb (and far better than anything I could ever produce!), I don't believe that the best one won. Don't get me wrong, Billy's was a fine piece of artwork, be not confused. But by his own admission it was very rushed together because he did not expect to win the vote. And it showed. When I looked at it I could tell that it had been thrown together pretty quickly. Out of respect I kept quiet. But over the weekend I began feeling uncomfortable with the prospect of putting that design up for the world to see. I want the site to look as good as it possibly can. So then I thought I'd try my hand at it. It didn't take long for me to figure out that that was not the way to go either.

So what does all this mean? It means that I've decided to go with Jesse's design. I feel as though it has a very polished and professional look, and would be the best option. As I said, I realize this may anger some people or hurt some feelings, and i apologize for that, but I'm doing what I feel is in the best interest of the site and its future.

Finally, I'd like to say that I hope that everyone voted for the design that they truly felt was the best. I realize that Jesse's design does resemble what TWCC looked like back in 2003 and for some time prior to that. But that is a poor excuse to not vote for any design. If you could not look at all the entrants and vote fairly for the best, then you should not have voted at all. I feel confident, however, that the vote was nothing but fair and unbiased.

This decision is strictly business and not personal in any way.  Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.

Ok, apparently there's some confusion about this rule. Since Martin and Brian have instructed people to PM them a username and password they wish to use, you can obviously do that. But that only requires ONE PM. You may not necessarily get an immediate response. That isn't your signal to bombard them until you do.

But this is the ONLY reason to PM them.
I think this quote makes it clear enough for you.

LOL, I sure hope it does.

I'm not trying to be nasty about this whole PM thing, but Martin and Brian have clearly stated that they aren't pleased about the number of PM's they've received, and so I feel its my job to help control the problem. The best thing I can say is READ THE SETUP INSTRUCTIONS. They tell you precisely what to do.

So...I was just watching the local news and the weatherman says we may see our first major snowstorm of the year this coming weekend. He says a storm may develop in the Gulf and come up the east coast.

I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this!
cue the Storm Alert on The Weather Channel!

LOL, it would 't surprise me if they did that!

Dell is pretty good. Its the only name brand I would recommend to anyone.

Mike, it sounds to me like the motherboard kicked the bucket. Usually if the hard drive is the cause only THAT hard drive won't be seen by your PC. But your saying that no drives are seen by the PC, which certainly points to a bigger problem.
