General Discussion / Re: The Front Porch
« on: May 10, 2009, 10:40:35 PM »
I think the early mall closing is due to the economy. Less people are going out shopping, especially late at night, so why stay open until 10pm or later if next to nobody is gonna be there?
That was my guess, too.

So Tyler, I'm surprised your not gushing about your Penguins. They've beaten my Capitals three straight times now. God knows I'd love to see the Caps take this series. It would be a bit of revenge for the loss your Steelers handed my Ravens in the AFC Championship game a few months back.  :P

And it could still happen. Don't forget that we came back from a 3-1 deficit against the Rangers to take the series in 7 games. We play best with our backs against the wall.  :P

I've been too busy to talk about them on here.

But, hockey is my favorite sport. I've gone out to watch every playoff game so far.

Mine too. I'd love to go to a playoff game. I've only been to a Caps game once, and it was a regular season game back in the mid-90's. And it was awesome. I can only imagine how awesome a playoff game must be to be at.  :D

This partnership is hereby reinstated. I know I said that I was not going to have anything to do with TWCC, but Matt and I have put our differences behind us and are starting anew, as you all have surely heard. We don't have much of a plagarism issue these days it seems, but I still think its important for TWCC and TWCT to remain partners in keeping plagairism at bay.  B)
Sounds good to me
Sorry about doing this without your knowledge Martin. But again, it was one of those things I did, and felt it was my responsibility to undo it.  B)

As a gesture of goodwill, I've removed from the ban list Matt and the two TWCC members whom I'd previously banned. Hopefully this will be a step toward peace between the two sites.
I also want peace between my site and TWCT. I have already made ammends with Gary, but would like to take it one step further and offer my skills to fix the PHP errors on this site. I'm not sure who handles the scripts, but if they're interested in my help, feel free to send me a PM. :)
Martin has put me in charge of that now and I will begin fixing those problems Monday night on my day off. Don't worry :) If I do need help, I'll contact you, don't worry

IOW, you'll never hear from him.  :P

The rules are not to hurt or bring down any one person but to keep things in check. I wasn't happy at how signatures were managed. Aaron feel free to put up a signature. You have 700 characters which I think is quite enough  You dont have to remove it completely
I noticed the 7 line limit is still in effect, though. Is there still supposed to be a line limit in addition to a character limit?

Yes. IIRC, the line limit was put into effect several days ago.

Giving Lamarr attention is only gonna add fuel to the fire. Ignore him. He'll get bored soon.

I did say that. I really don't want to know what Lamarr has to say. Don't post anymore of his videos please.

socool, here's the bottom line: either live with the limitations or leave. You don't need to tell us your life story in your sig. A few sentences is more than sufficient/

Martin, I wouldn't tighten the restrictions any further. I think 7 lines is sufficient. But of course thats just my opinion.  B)

All I'm going to say is that there are several people here who have sigs that are so big that their unsightly. I had thought long and hard about making similar restrictions, but just decided to go with the live and let live approach to the problem. I think Martin is 100% justified in making these restrictions. It seems to me that for the most part the only people not liking the restrictions are those who have sigs that are not within those restrictions.  <_<

All school closings in Maryland have been cancelled.Starting tomorrow all schools will be back open. Evidently this flu really is weaker than they thought.

But on the same token they did confirm the first U.S. death from the swine flu today.

I haven't welcomed a new member in ages, but I thought I'd welcome Nick, since he's been a part of the TWC fan community for a very long time. Yes, this is the Nick we know from TWCC.  B)

So, welcome aboard Nick! Hope you enjoy the site and forum!  B)
