Zach, I'm tired of your whining. I have but two words for you-get lost. No one's forcing you (or anyone else) to be here. Viruses aren't just "given". Either you visited a website that gave you a virus, or you opened a file which contained a virus. I don't particularly appreciate you blaming the people here for giving you a virus.

I'm really not sure it qualifies as a pandemic. I always thought of a pandemic as an event in which millions, not thousands, are getting sick.  :dunno:

Just trying to change the subject we are only under 1hr and 21 mins from the DTV Transition Finally!!!

Now i cant wait for what Comcast to figure out another way to tell its customers "The DTV Transition was needed for NEW HD channels for your area".

Uh, sorry but the transition occurs at 12:30 PM tomorrow, not AM. Therefore, we're actually about 12 hours and 21 minutes away form the transition.

Hey Guys,
To 'twcclassics'  Steve Hurst was a great guy, I was so sorry to see him leave because he truly was the one that set the tone for the inclusion of 'indie' music in the line-up and to 'bolt96' well it's obvious where your true sentiments lie and that's ok.  The thing is, if you read their language carefully, you'll note the phrase 'identity' - this says to me they may be moving towards very specific themes for each segment - to make them identifiable as opposed to the pastiche that they currently have.  So you may be hearing not a specific genre of music, i.e. 'rock' or 'smooth jazz' but, instead very regimented 'weather channel' themes.
Either that or they'll employ a company that already has the licenses and pre-formatted music - like a satellite radio channel - in which case you may indeed get your beloved 'rock' as just a part of the 'new' style that they choose.  And I'd have to agree with 'localonthe8s' that it's difficult to see 'classic rock' as being particularly appealing to 'youth' - I mean, huh?!

I still think that youth being into jazz is a far bigger "huh?" then being into classic rock.  :P :D

LOL wanna hear an amazing coincedence? I went to Hawthorne Elementary. Of course, probably not the same one you went to.  :P

On a different note, I've got an update on that severe weatehr i was telling you all about the other day. The NWS sent a team to investigate the possible tornado that occured about ten minutes away from me, and they confirmed that it was indeed an EF0 tornado.  :o

The Hawthorne Elementary I went to was in Ontario, CA. I've spent 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and half of 5th grade. I moved to what is now my hometown (Colton) in the middle of 5th grade.

Yep, that's definitely not the one I went to.  :D

This is so awesome.  My second grade teacher sent something in the mail with a letter saying "you are now graduating, and it's been 10 years since you've been in 2nd grade.." ladeeda.. and sent some papers that we wrote about where we see our selves in the future, and what you like to do in 2nd grade, favorite shows, ect. It is awesome!

ahh...2nd grade...I was Tetherball champ during that year, the best tetherball player in Hawthorne Elementary. I never got in contact with my elementary school teachers. Probably because I was moving alot :noexpression:

It certainly is optional. Debating as to have it off by default in which users would have to choose to turn it on. :hmm:

I think that would be the better option. Personally, I'm annoyed at being taken automatically to the quick reply box. I think it would be best to have it off by default and allow everyone to decide whether they want it on.

Stormy weather here earlier this evening. Where I am we had hail to the size of half dollars, 60+ mph wind gusts, frequent cloud to ground lightning (several trees were struck), torrential rains and flooding. We actually were without power for a couple of hours. About 10 minutes to the north there was a funnel cloud spotted. The NWS is going to send a team up here tomorrow to determine if the funnel actually touched down.

Scary for sure. But its the kind of weather I live for.  :D :P

It's odd...as with us liking jazz at such a young age.

LOL, liking classic rock isn't THAT odd.  :P

I think we just need to wait and see what happens. Whining about it certianly won't change it, now or later.

I do wonder though, where you guys got the notion that they're gonna use rock music. I didn't read that part in the memo Jeanne posted...
Well Gary, they are. Just look at the June playlist- There are far more songs of the Rock genre than of jazz or most anything else.  <_<  :(

Wow, this is such a shame for you Jeanne, as well as all the other independent artists featured on TWC. It's definitely the WRONG thing for TWC to do. If I had any interest left in TWC this would have killed it.
Agreed. The only reason I am still watching TWC is because I have had so many years tied up with them. It is not easy to leave a lifelong hobby like that.
TWC and NBC will notice their ratings and viewers go down to the sewer. It would be nice if they realized they had fans.

However, it seems to me like they know they are disapproving to the audience they have always had. They are including at least some jazz. I notice there is at least one Ryan Farish song. But having said that, I didn't say that they care. I wonder how many people would agree to and/or sign a petition on this.......

All those groups (except maybe one) have been featured on TWC in years past. Nothing really new on that playlist. And as Gil said, there's no indication they plan to go with an all rock format. Tht's just a premature conclusion on your part.

TWC Today News / Re: TWCT Going Strong!
« on: June 06, 2009, 08:29:43 AM »
There are videos not working? I was never aware of that. All of the content of the site should work fine, except on those pages that weren't yet up.

As far as videos are concerned...

When I click on TWC HD under videos and click on any clip, I get this error message:
Quote
https://twctodayforums.com/index.php?page=video/twchd/hd/320WP.avi twctodayforums.com 404 Wrong page.

And when I click on any of the "Local Across the 48's" pages or "TWC's Major Meltdown" page, the page looks like this:
Quote
Warning: require(pages/video/meltdown.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/twctoday/public_html/func.php on line 18

Warning: require(pages/video/meltdown.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/twctoday/public_html/func.php on line 18

Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'pages/video/meltdown.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/twctoday/public_html/func.php on line 18

I believe these are the only video problems...hopefully they can be fixed.

Not sure why the TWCHD page is up, yet the videos aren't working. I don't recall making a habit out of putting pages online before they were ready for use.

As for the meltdown page, that page is simply not up yet. There's no video errors there. That problem I WAS aware of.
