Just a few basic rules for the forum.
First, this is a family oriented forum, so please try and keep profanity to a minimum. This doesn't mean that an occasional bad word will result in punishment. But threads with seemingly excessive profanity will be either edited or removed, and members who seem to use excessive profanity will be given a warning, and subsequently removed if they do not heed it.
There is a Report To Admin button at the bottom of every post. Use this only to report posts that may be against the rules. It is not to be used to ask me questions, or for any other use. This is mainly because posts are reported anonymously, which means that I cannot respond to them. For anything other than reporting pots, simply PM me. Also, please don't be trigger happy with the Report button. Report only things that are truly not acceptable. I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH. Please report only posts and/or threads which are against the rules. The Report To Admin feature is not your personal soapbox, or a mechanism for revenge against someone you don't like, or to report something that simply annoys you. And please, don't report a thread or post more than once.
We ask that you please refrain from posting tech support questions regarding the WS4000 emulator here. This is because there is a forum for that elsewhere, and also because most of us have very limited ability to help.
Please refrain from posting one-word or otherwise short, unnecessary posts. We love when you post. Really we do. Just make sure your making posts that add something meaningful to our discussions. Of course, intentional post count inflation by these or any means is not tolerated.
Off-topic posting is allowed only in the General Discussion forum. Elsewhere, please be sure to post things pertaining to the topic you want to add to. Off-topic posts will either be removed or placed in the right place.
Posts such as "I have it, but I can't share it" are not tolerated. There's nothing pertaining to TWC that you can't share with us. If you'd rather not share with us for whatever reason, simply don't bring it up. Such posts are often perceived as teases or flaunts. When in doubt about sharing something, ask an admin.
Regarding file sharing programs-you MAY talk about those which are legal. However, discussion of illegal file sharing programs and/or methods isn't allowed. We could get in trouble for allowing such discussion. Again, if in doubt, ask an admin.
Asking or begging for responses to your thread is not allowed. If anyone has anything they'd like to add, they surely will. Most of us have lives away from here and don't always catch new threads immediately. Nor do we all have something to say in every discussion.
Bumping of threads, especially those more than a month or so old is only allowed if you have something worthwhile to add. Don't bump a thread from last year just to say "Ha-that was funny!!". The thread was no worse off without your input.
If you have a site of your own, you MAY advertise it in your sig if you wish. You may also advertise a site not belonging to you in your sig if you wish, as long as you have that site's owner's permission to advertise it. If you want to start a thread in the general discussion board to advertise your site or forum please contact me first.
If you wish to create a thread of your own in the general discussion board (i.e. "Gary's Thread", or "Victor's Thread", you get the idea) in which to post your thoughts, ideas, discussions, etc. this IS allowed. But only one thread per person please. These seem to be popular threads, so I'm willing to allow them.
Please try not to duplicate existing topics. There is a search box at the top right of your screen just beneath the banner. If in doubt, use it to make sure your proposed topic doesn't already exist.
Harassment of your fellow members is not allowed in any way, shape, or form. Later editing a post to remove a disparaging remark does not remove you from responsibility. Please respect one another.
Please do not post private information about any employee of The Weather Channel, or any artist featured on the local forecast. These people want privacy too. Their personal lives are none of our concern.
Do not post IN ALL CAPS LIKE THIS. It is the equivalent of shouting on the internet. No one wants to be shouted at!
You MAY post articles relating to TWC, but be sure to cite the author and source of the article, so as to avoid any possibility if plagiarism.
Excessively large signatures are not allowed. These are very unsightly and often make it very difficult to navigate through a thread.
