Hmm...well then perhaps yours was a filter/splitter combination. Perhaps the DSL side wasn't actually filtered. It's not possible to successfully use a filter on the DSL line, so that must be it.

I have yet to see a filter with such a jack. A filter is a small device which you plug into a phone line...it looks like a small box on the end of a phone line. Maybe your thinking of something else?

In fact, is here is a picture of a filter:

As you can see, its a simple one jack device. You simply plug a phone, fax, etc. into the jack, and plug the plug end of the filter into the phone jack on your wall. If you were to plug your modem into this, you would have lots of problems, jsut like the one's Stephen is having.

Very cool! Is it ok to put your videos on the site (including the one's on YouTube)?

You cannot plug a DSL modem into the filter. The filter filter's out the signals that the modem needs to operate properly. IF your phone jack has a splitter installed, you may install a filter on another device (like a phone, fax, etc.) and plug it into the splitter alongside the modem, but a filter can never be placed on the DSL modem line.

I didn't know a filter can cause interference on a modem?

Oh yes. The ISP will tell you not to put a filter on the DSL line for that very reason.

Stephen, your solution sounds good. Hopefully it will work!  8)

Nice weather here today Temps were in the lower 80's, and the humidity was virtually non-existant. Similiar conditions are expected until next week when normal summertime conditions are expected to return. On an interesting note, we are now officially in a drought. Though I don't know how they came to that conclusion-we're only a couple of inches short for the year, and have a small surplus for the month.

Yeah that is strange. You would think they'd use the same platform on both channels.

Heres what i did:

I have a Performa 6400 running Mac OS 8. It is connected to the internet, so i downloaded a free font converter for Mac.

I converted it, then used a Floppy to transfer it from the Mac to the PC. It all worked flawlessly.

Gary, theres no doubt that your system is able to do this and has Helvetica.

To save trouble, I could probably post the font here, but there are only 2 versions of it.

What would be the difference if you posted yours or if I took it off my Mac myslef? Would I get something more out of doing it myself?
