OCMs & Personalities / Mark Mancuso?
« on: July 22, 2007, 12:23:29 AM »
Where's Mark been? I haven't seen him on in a long time. Granted, I don't watch on the weekends very often, so if that's when he's on, then that's why i haven't seen him.

I find it to be civilized, but very one sided, as most involving you are.

Well let's see....if they've lived there for 27 years, that would put them there in 1980, which leaves 4 unaccounted for years.

Why is it always impossible to have a balanced conversation with you? Probably because you HAVE to be right, even if it means lying and/or exaggerating.  >:(

Well, they've NEVER had to dig up the wires before. Lets see, this house was built in 1976, so the wires have been down there for 30 years and they've never had problems or needed to dig em up.

And considering you've only been on this planet since 1994 (roughly), how would you have any idea of the history of that house?

Moisture can still seep into the plastic piping, and it doesn't take long at all before the cold of winter causes the piping to become brittle and crack, thereby allowing even more moisture in.

But they are exposed to the underground elements...king of which is moisture.

I'm telling you, one is not better than the other. They both have their advantages and drawbacks.

Gary, its proven that underground electrical wires ARE less prone to outages from factors such as weather. THey still get surges, spikes,
brownouts, etc.
Show me.  ;)

Tough one. I guess I'll say fire as they are, in most cases, easier and less time consuming to put out rather than a flood (unless you are talking about wildfires, which is a different story).

Evergreen or deciduous (sp) trees?

Are you kidding? A fire can destroy an entire house in seconds, whereas most floods only destroy the lower levels.

Decidous. Much more beautiful.

Summer or winter?

My house has above ground wiring. The thing about above ground wiring is it's a lot easier to replace if they get damaged, because you don't have to have your yard torn to pieces to get them fixed.
Exactly right Stephen.

Gil, underground wires have their own problems, so, no, their not less prone to problems. They just have differenet ones. And no, above ground wires are not dangerous. They say taht the big transmission towers are what's dangerous.
Well the power, specifically, is less prone to outages, since there is pretty much nothing at all that can disturb it.

Oh yeah, I think i was thinking of the big transmission lines. I saw lots of those today

Again, not true. As I said, underground wiring has its own set of problems.

Mike, don't know if you realize this, but for each branch you cut off of a tree, it will grow several more. There will never be a depletion of oxygen.

Its not that different. The only difference is everything is above ground instead of underground.  :D

IMHO, you've got bigger problems than mistakenly using a filter on your modem. You need to get a technician out there to check every inch of line between your house and the phone pole. Does anyone else in your neighborhood have similar problems?

Comedy. Reality sucks. Very few reality shows have ever made it to my "To Watch" list.

Rock or rap?

Nope. But you don't have to say it. It was implied.
