Local Forecast / What STAR where?

Thought this might be an interesting topic. What STAR does your area have? What STAR's do other area's that you know of have? It'll be interesting to see how much info we can gather. I'll start.

Here in Baltimore we have the IS. In fact, every area in the state now has the IS. The DC area also has the IS.

I need everybody's help with something. Last night I got a message from Felipe, in which he apologized (seemingly sincerely), and asked to be given one chance to prove himself here. I've spoken to Stephen, and we agree that it would only be fair to give him one chance. But he only gets one. and if he screws it up he's gone. That's where you guys come in. I need you to be my eyes and ears. Please let me know if you see anything that may be questionable or that you know is against the rules. Use the report button! That is what its there for!

I appreciate everyone's cooperation with this matter and I assure you all that we will have complete control of the situation at all times.

TWC Today News / File Upload Form issues

I've been told by a couple of people that the file upload form is not working. I do not know what happened to it. I have been working since about 12 this afternoon to fix it. I believe it should be fixed now. If you are still having problems with it, please let me know. Thanks.

The Game Room / *NEW*-Please Read Before Playing Or Starting Games

Ok, since the Game Room is on the brink of getting out of control, I am laying down a new set of rules. They are:

-No double posting. I am tired of seeing people double post in here for no reason. A double post is two back to back posts by one person.

-Play fairly or not at all-this means no arguing, name calling, purposefully rating a sig or avatar lowly, or other behavior intended to hurt or argue.

-Posts must be worthwhile. No posts with just a single word or emoticon. These are a huge waste of everybody's time.

-Keep it clean and appropriate.

-Do NOT post in any game just to tell a person they may start the next round. This is NOT acceptable. I'm sure that person is or will be aware that they are next to start.

PLEASE READ AND UNDERSTAND THESE RULES. I will NOT remind you. Instead, I will take immediate action against any infringement.

This is a cool game I saw over on TWCC. Basically, you play this game by adding "in my pants" to the end of your sentences. I'll start:

What channel are TWC and WxScan on in your area?

Here in Baltimore TWC is on channel 62, and WxScan is on digital channel 101.

TWC Today News / Contributing To TWC Today

Ok, I've fielded a number of questions that go something like "why aren't my contributions on the site?". Let me explain how our contribution system works.

Whenever I get contributions, I post them according to the order in which they were given to me. However, if I'm given a video that is very interesting, it will take precedence over any other video and will be put up first. So, to review, videos go up in the order they were given to me, unless it is some sort of special or interesting video, in which case it goes up before all other videos.

I hope everyone is clear now on how this works, and won't continue to bombard me wanting to know why their videos aren't on the site.

Local Forecast / Possible lead on Billy Walsh?

I was a doing some Google searching this morning, and found a site that seems like it may be that of (much sought after)TWC artist Billy Walsh. Here is the site:http://www.billywalshband.com/billy.html. It would seem that this might be him since his instrument of choice is Guitar, and the Billy Walsh that played on TWC was also a guitarist. I only see one cd on the site though, and it doesn't include either of his TWC songs. What do you guys think? Maybe I should e-mail him and see if its him? The worst that can happen is that it could turn out that it isn't him.

I just received word from Chazz at TWCC that I am welcome to all of the 2000-present content that was formerly housed at TWC Classics. This means that those of you who have been asking about it will get the chance to see it again!

OCMs & Personalities / How do you judge the OCM's?

When watching TWC, do you decide whether you like an OCM based on their looks, or on how well they do their job?

Me, I never judge the OCM's based on their looks. Instead, I always judge them by how well they do their job. If I like the way they presented the weather, then I like them. On the other hand, if I don't like their presentation, or don't enjoy watching them, then I don't like them. I think its ridiculous to judge based on looks. I've always hated TWC for deciding that looks are more important than anything else. IMO, TWC's aim for beauty really has made some of the female OCM's look much less professional than they used to. One good example of this that comes to my mind is Kristin Dodd. IMO, when she first came to TWC back in the 90's she looked like a mature professional. Today, on the other hand, she's been glammed up so much that she looks 20 years younger than she did back in the 90's. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing, its just not what I watch TWC for.
