TWC Today News / Apologies

I feel I should apologize to everyone, and specifically to those most involved, for the little outburst earlier in the day. All of my members are extremely valuable to me, and I would never ban anyone just because they post more at TWC Classics than they do here, though it'll always make me unhappy to see.

Billy, Stephen, Paul, Matt, Tyler, I hope that there aren't any hard feelings and that we can move forward, and continue to make this site the great site that its been.

Matt, it would be really nice to finally put an end to our differences once and for all. Of course, its totally up to you where we go from here. I would be very happy to see that my thoughts are at least considered, instead of being doused in order to save face with your members. Sometimes we have to make difficult decisions, and sometimes our members don't agree. But if its for the best in the long run, we just have to live with that for a bit. They'll get over it, and everyone will be better off.

TWC Today News / Need a Favor

Ok, I am on a mission to get all the deleted content back onto the site. However, a couple of people who gave me stuff don't come around here anymore. However, I see that they are still active at TWCC, and therein lies my favor. Would anyone here (perhaps one of my co-admins?, though anyone can do this) be willing to PM them forme, and ask if they could someone resend their contributions? My e-mail address is in my profile, so if you want you can offer them the option of e-mailing their stuff to me if they wish, though I'd prefer that they'd drop by and upload it here to the forum. Here is who I need you to contact:

mattk-He donated a bunch of the openers from the Segment Openers page

stormymikala-She donated a bunch of clips of Wilma coverage

TWC Today News / Changes to Guest priveleges

As I announced not long ago, the board is once again viewable to guests. However, after some thought I've decided to keep the Contributions, Art, and Game Room boards blocked to guests. Of course, the obvious reason for this is that those boards contain member contributions that can be stolen and/or duplicated. The other reason is that I hope that the inability to view those boards will drive more guests to register.

I can't make it much clearer than that! I don't know what it is, but for some reason no one wants to talk here. Think this place is boring? Go stand in front of the nearest mirror and behold the problem. You. You guys are more than welcome to start or add to threads at anytime. This place can be as fun or boring as you make it. Of course, if there's a particular reason why everyone's tight lipped around here, I'd love to know what it is, because I'm certainly in the dark at this point. We've had great member turnout tonight, but hardly a word has been said. Its shameful. 

And quit giving excuses for why there isn't more posting. There is no excuse!

Okay, I am currently working on the 24-hour Trammell outage page, and need clips anyone might have donated. It appears that most (if not all) clips came from Billy, and perhaps a few from Alain. If you guys could donate those again that would be awesome! Thanks!   :sunglasses:

I waas just over at TWC's bio pages to try and find a bio for Dennis Smith (I'm making a bio for hi here, so I need info), but noticed that he doesn't have a bio there anymore. Is he no longer with TWC?  :shocked:

TWC Today News / Attention Members

Effective immediately, several new rules are going into effect, and they will be strictly enforced by both myself and my co-admins. The reason for these changes is that I have people telling me they don't want to come back because they are annoyed by some of the things that go on here, and frankly, I can't blame them.  And frankly, I can't, and won't, have that.

First, I am no longer allowing posts with just a single emoticon for any purpose. Thunder, this means your going to have to stop your emoticon of the day. I can't let you do it without letting everyone else do it too.

Second, posts must be worthwhile. This means that you can't go into the What Did you eat today? thread and just say "food". This kind of post will immediately be removed.

Third, any argument that breaks out will be stopped immediately either by removal of posts, or locking the thread in its entirety. There's no room here for arguing, bickering, fighting, etc.

Finally, be certain that you are posting in the proper place, and that you only make new threads when its necessary. For instance, talk about LF music should be put only in that respective board.

These rules are meant to make this a pleasant and enjoyable place to post and interact with one another. Your cooperation with these rules would be greatly appreciated.

Programming and Graphics / Heidi Cullen out as host of Forecast Earth

Just found out that Heidi Cullen will no longer host Climate Code/Forecast Earth, though she'll still be a contributor. She's being replaced by someone named Natalie Allen. On the bad sidde, though, FE is being lengthened from 30 minutes to one hour per episode.

TWC Today News / Display name changes

Starting immediately, all members are now limited to one name change in a three month period, just as at TWCC. I started off not enforcing such a rule because I felt as though it was unnecessary. But, as is so often the case when I am more relaxed about something than Matt is on his board, I've found out why Matt does what he does. Some people just have to change their names on a constant basis.

So once again, you are now limited to one name change in a three month period. anyone found to be breaking this rule will lose the privelege entirely.

Therefore, to share the wealth a bit, so to speak, I've created this thread. This thread is for all those little discussions that end up in the PBS, and that just aren't important enough for their own thread.

At this moment NONE of the clips on the openers page are functioning. If you donated any openers (and some of you donated lots of them) please donate them again so that I can get at least something functioning on that page. Thank you!  :sunglasses:
