Everything Else TWC / Bids for TWC due next week

According to Reuters, preliminary bids for The Weather Channel are due next week. Article:

Interested parties include NBC, CBS, Time Warner, and Comcast. Looks like we'll be seeing pretty soon just who is and isn't interested enough to pay $5 billion.

Anyone here ever buy music at djangos.com? I know its a relatively popular site with alot of the folks at TWCC (they used to sell alot of harder to find music from the older days), but I had never noticed any mention of them being closed. Well, I went to their site recently to browse for music, and lo and behold I got a message stating that the company had folded. Needless to say I was pretty shocked, as I was not aware they were even considering closing. Anyone know the circumstances of their closure?

NBC Universal is interested in TWC, but has decided it will not pay the $5 billion Landmark is asking. Article:

Apparently at 1:09PM this afternoon millions of Florida Power and Light customers were sent into darkness after a problem at the Turkey Point Nuclear Plant caused what's being called a "domino effect" of power outages throughout south Florida.

General Discussion / Baseball's Steroids Hearings

Alright, as most of you probably know, the steroids issue in baseball took center stage again yesterday when another round of hearings were held before congress regarding Roger Clemens alleged use of human growth hormone. Most of you also probably know that there's a good deal of controversy surrounding yesterday's testimonies. What do you all think? Was anyone lying? Who? If so, do you think that person(s) will be charged with perjury?

Me, I think Roger Clemens was not telling the truth. You have two men, Brian McNamee and Andy Pettite who testified that Clemens did use steroids. Yet all Clemens could muster in his own defense was that Pettite must have been mistaken and McNamee was lying. I don't buy it. I think he should be charged, but it seems likely that his status as a star, as well as his friendship with George Bush will be his saving grace, which is probably why he lied in the first place.
