Local Forecast / Song ID Needed Please
« on: August 09, 2008, 08:34:02 PM »
Ok, I have another song I need you all to ID, if you can. Like the last song I needed ID'd (as you recall it turned out to be a Paul Hardcastle song) this one has been in my TWC Music folder, and I don't know what it is or why its there. Al I know about it is that the title I gave it is Step.

I'd appreciate your help very much!

General Discussion / Hey fans of the old Nickelodeon!
« on: August 09, 2008, 06:46:46 PM »
I just saw a commercial on TV that should make those of you like me who are fans old the old Nickelodeon very happy! Surely you guys remember the show Nickelodeon Guts? Well, their bringing it back! Its called My Family Has Guts! Apparently their doing with Guts what they did years ago with Double Dare, which is making a family version of it. For the first time since the 90's I'm actually eager to see something new coming to Nick!

Local Forecast / MAJOR FIND
« on: August 05, 2008, 02:28:42 PM »
Ok, I know its probably not right, but that's going to have to be tough in this case, since Torsten's music is TERRIBLY hard to find-if its possible at all.

Anyway, I was doing a search today for his Mastertouch album (which feature all of his TWC used tunes), and came across this:

http://omehenk.blogspot.com/2008/01/torsten-de-winkel-mastertouch-1989.html

In the comments, the writer posted a link to download the full album. I've tested and can verify it works. All of the mirrors on the download page ARE functional. Again, I'm only doing this because of the extreme difficulty in finding his music.

The Game Room / New Game Room Policy *PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING*
« on: August 04, 2008, 01:41:31 PM »
Ok, after much thinking and racking of my brain, I've thought of a policy that will help keep things peaceful here in the game room. From now on anytime you want to start a new game you need to get admin approval first. This is to weed out games that are difficult (or impossible) to play on the internet, or games that are flat out dumb (no offense) or make no sense.

If you post a new game without getting approval from one of us first you will automatically be suspended from the forum for one week, or any period the acting admin sees fit. A subsequent infraction of this rule will result in a permanent banning from the forum.

Also, from now on there will be no game room specific posting restrictions. The only posting restrictions here are those that govern the entire forum (see the forum rules thread in the news board). However, you MUST participate elsewhere in the forum to continue to be allowed to post in here. As long as you participate regularly elsewhere on the boards you can post here as much as you wish. However, no one will be allowed to lounge in here and not participate elsewhere. Those who are found to be doing so will not be allowed access to the game room.

I hope these new policies will make it so that people will feel free to post as they please in here, while making it clear that lounging in here and not posting elsewhere will not be allowed.

Thanks for your cooperation. Questions and comments are welcome.

Local Forecast / Need clips
« on: August 04, 2008, 11:11:53 AM »
Okay guys, I need some help from anyone willing to help. I am trying to add clips to the music clips page on the site. If anyone can help with providing some 30-second clips, that would be great. I am mainly looking for songs from 2006-present, as I have very few songs from that time period on the clips page currently. But I will gladly take AY song not already on the clips page.

Thanks in advance for any help!  B)

Local Forecast / Small Discovery
« on: August 02, 2008, 01:48:34 AM »
I have made a small discovery, one that may help anyone interested to obtain a few classic TWC tunes. as those of you form TWCC know, recently many of Matt's unknown songs have been discovered, including several by Tiger Okoshi, Ernie Watts Quartet, and Guitar Workshop in L.A., amongst others. Of course, if you've tried finding these cd's, you've seen that their either not available or terribly expensive. The following is a CD called JVC World Class Sampler Vol. II which I located on Amazon, and it has a few TWC tunes on it, namely Face to Face by Tiger Okoshi, Beverly Hills by Guitar Workshop in L.A., and Language of The Heart by Ernie Watts Quartet, and this CD sells for only $4 and change, as compared to the $20-$100 you'd pay for each of these artists individual albums. Here's the link:

http://www.amazon.com/JVC-World-Class-Sampler-Vol/dp/B00000DU71

If you search the web you can find a site or two that has clips of these songs. AFAIK the only TWC songs on this album are the three aformentioned one's, but I don't know for sure if there are another TWC tunes on this album

Again, just thought this might be a helpful find.

OCMs & Personalities / Bob Stokes:"It Wasn't Me!"
« on: July 23, 2008, 11:42:12 PM »
According to the following article from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Bob Stokes disputes the charges against him of sexual harassment, and claims that Hillary Andrews is equally responsible. Apparently they both knowingly and willingly took part in the conversations. Article:

Local Forecast / Dave Morgan FOUND!
« on: July 21, 2008, 12:39:11 PM »
For those who remember, I've found an artist from the late 90's, Dave Morgan, composer of the tune Cool Nite!

He says the song was on cassette, so he's gonna have to do so digging to find it. But let;s keep our fingers crossed that he does!  B) :cool3:

BTW, I realize this isn't current TWC related, but its very important and thought tit would be appropriate to tell you guys about this.

Contributions / Contribution Procedures- Updated 9/27/09
« on: July 17, 2008, 12:37:16 PM »
Its come to my attention that there are no clear cut rules for contributing yet, so I thought I'd lay them out.

Basically, there are no actual rules. You need not ask if you can post contributions. Your welcome to do so at anytime. I can't think of any reason why you should have to ask me first. I have it set so that contributions up to 20MB may be posted to the forum. Anything above that I would kindly ask that you do contact me about first. Mainly so that I can increase the size to whatever is needed!

Any questions or comments about these rules may be PM'd to me.  :sunglasses: :twothumbs:

Local Forecast / Need Playlists from 2007 and 2008
« on: July 16, 2008, 10:57:35 AM »
I am once again looking for playlists from this year and last year. Yes, many of them are posted here, but they are basically an unorganized mess. I am trying to update the playlist pages on the site, and I have no time to be farting around with making each playlist halfway readable.

They don't need to be in any particular format. A plain text file will do. They just need to be semi-organized and easy to read.

If anyone can help with this I would really appreciate it!  :sunglasses:
