I see they still haven't updated the look of the 10 day forecast, or weekend forecast pages. That's disappointing, as I don't think they match the rest of the look.If I recall, it's a work in progress
Just Jailbroke my iPod Touch 2G, and now it displays the wrong time (several hours and minutes off), and I can't fix it in the settings, nor dos syncing with iTunes correct it. And it appears there's no fix for it. Crap.Apple's way of saying "fuck you"
TWC uses red lower-thirds for any developing story or coverage for any severe weather, so it's harder to determine when TWC goes into Storm Alert. When the studio goes red, you'll know it's storm alert.
The forum keeps randomly logging me out every few hours on both of my computers, and I have it set so I'm logged on forever. Anyone else having this issue?Cookies. Clear them. Cache. Clear that too. Close your browser. Open your browser. Go back to the forums and try again. If that doesn't help, you seem to be the only one affected as I'm still logged in both of my machines.
Interesting that you pointed that out. Very good observation!even though that may be the case, me and Springy are having trouble believing this thing takes place in NY and not the actual former Weekend View room in Atlanta. Why would they ship an entire studio structure to NY? Did they? If they didn't, then why lie to the potential viewers? Why not utilize the walk-in closet, erm, I mean WUWA studio like A&B utilized the Weekend View room in 2006 with movable walls and such? I think that is enough questions for now....
If it truly is the same set, it's great that they recycle the old set, since it wasn't in use for THAT long.
A few notes/questions about the 8 PM CT hour of Weather Center (since I don't know if I've watched this much of it for a LONG time):The waves aren't new. They premiered last year in the former weather.com part of the studio. They put up the vortex 2 backgrounds over there last year, then took the tornado part out and put up the waves, while the rest of the vortex 2 background remained. They put the tornado back for vortrx 2 this year, and once hurricane season began, the waves returned. I hope this makes some sort of sense. Just remember, the former weather.com stuff that used to be there most likely isn't returning. Expect the waves/tornado hybrid to remain for a long time.
1) At 5 minutes past the hour, Chris was in front of a cool dark wave background. Is this a new part of the HD studio? I couldn't tell if he was sitting at a desk, or maybe a chroma key wall was being used. Anyways, it was neat.
2) Chris Warren is a really good OCM. I like his explanations and how excited he can get about some things. Cantore got all excited tonight, too...imagine the two of them on a show.
3) Chris was actually all over the studio today. At one point he was in the newsroom, showing us how to navigate weather.com to find the latest on Alex. I don't know if I've ever seen weather.com on air before. (And BTW, TWC uses Internet Explorer...in case some of you didn't know. )
4) Finally, there was an annoying AT&T-sponsored Weekly Planner opener. Is this something new, because I don't like it. It was more like an advertisement than an opener.
Is TWC in Storm Alert??No.
Sometime between Sunrise Weather/early Weekend View and late Weekend View on Saturday, they slightly changed the look of the tropical titlebars.it seems they still use both though
Notice the font change and the color scheme of the middle text line.
It's not any worse than the name "Alexandra Steele" which is longer
Her name is long, but it's not THAT long...I don't think the font size is changed at all on the L3rds.
Cunningham takes a little to get used to, but I see no problem at all with her using that name. She's still got the same first name and looks the same, so I'm sure viewers can figure out that she got married.
my point exactly, if you haven't noticed...it barely fits on the two-person split lowerthird shown at the top of the hour. which is the l3rd i'm referring to...not the single ocm lowerthird shown during that ocm's presentation.
Or she could go by any name she wants as it's HER name?I find it really odd that she has decided to be on-air with her married name. You would think that someone who is such a familiar face would want to stick with the same name.
Or at the very least, go by Kim Perez-Cunningham for a while.
Kelly Cass is on? Who was on Weekend View, then? Also, I wonder who will be on Weekend View in the morning...
I have been seeing bumpers and stuff on TWC that has "The Weather Channel - For the Best Weather" on them. Is this a new slogan?too early to know, but my gut says no, unless they discontinue the other ads.
