OCMs & Personalities / Re: Jon Erdman
« on: September 08, 2010, 11:31:01 PM »
i havnt seen "bullpen" or "twc radio" in awhile. but thats just me..
I don't believe they do that anymore. Is the "bullpen" even still there?
Yes. And once Jessica Arnoldy, the "Jesscam" producer, comes back from maternity (I'm assuming she's on maternity at this point, I haven't seen her), I'm assuming they'll bring it back. The "bullpen" has been there since the HD studio was built as you control a lot from back there.

Everything Else TWC / Re: General TWC Discussion
« on: September 07, 2010, 11:57:40 PM »
Did anyone see FO this morning? What LDL was on?

HD Blue LDL the same one that is on YWT right now.

Strange, I hope TWC didn't can the LDA, LDA/LDL, 33%LDL I liked the different LDL's.  The 33%LDL gives a lot more info to people  with cable. I wouldn't think TWC would can it.  Does anyone have an in with TWC to see what's going on?
If they did can it they would most likely use this 33% LDL (i caught back in late june) to take the place of the LDA/LDL.
I'm hoping they did can the 33% LDL... it took up too much screen real estate.

is it odd that TWC hasn't gone back to the 33% LDL? or is TWC gonna keep the smaller LDL?
probably the same reason why it took them so long to switch the LDL back to the blue one.

Programming and Graphics / Re: AL Roker Should Be on Weekends Too
« on: September 05, 2010, 10:55:44 PM »
Is Wake Up With Al really their highest rated show? That surprises me. Either people love Al Roker or they can't stand him. I, for one, love waking up with Al. I've always liked his sense of humor and such.
Yes, it's their highest rated show. Weather Center (7pm), YWT, and Weekend View are up there also.

Local Forecast / Re: Intellistar conversion question
« on: September 05, 2010, 09:09:39 AM »
In theory, how difficult would it be to convert an Intellistar that has been used for TWC, into one used for WeatherScan?  Thanks.
You don't. They're two completely different software platforms iirc.

Weekend morning shows get higher ratings anyway! At least rerun WUWA clips or something!
I agree! I mean, he's not working most Mondays, so he could do one or two days on the Weekend as well! I 100% fully support this pitch.

Bettes and Carfagno will be on at 7am. Some sort of First Outlook/Early Weekend View hybrid show is on now at the little desk with First Outlook's production crew with Alex Wallace and Ray Stagich.

***NOTICE TO ADMINS: PLEASE READ***

Right now, all members can NOT post new topics in ANY subforum. This problem has occured in the past, and I don't know why. If you could please fix this ASAP. Thanks in advance! :)
not by me, but it was done on purpose. I cannot say any more than that, I'm afraid.

So we're not allowed to post new topics anymore? Seems a little harsh, but I think I *might* know the reason why.

I'm pretty sure it's temporary.
Probably because too many people were posting the same topics elsewhere in the forums or made topics that could belong to another topic previously posted. I agree with this decision though, it helps keep down topics that might otherwise fit in the General LF, TWC Discussion boards, The Front Porch, etc.
I also have a feeling it is also a spam prevention technique until the next SMF update, because spam has really increased dramatically in the last few weeks...

General Discussion / Re: Apple Music Keynote 2010!!!

Can I offer you some advice? I would recommend editing the first post next time, for all of these updates, instead of making 6 in a row separate posts, especially if you're the only one in it so far.

Alexandra mentioned they dispatched 7 teams to the east coast... So far, I can guess: Jim, Mike Bettes, Mike Seidel, Steph, Jeff Morrow, Julie Martin... but who else would they send out? I'm predicting they may send out Chris Warren and Scott Williams too.
