Local Forecast / Re: Satellite LF Sightings
« on: January 26, 2009, 07:12:36 PM »
Oops. :pinch:

So it is probably a malfunction or the STAR could be dead.
I doubt the whole thing is dead.... I thought my STAR was dead on June 2nd as there was no trace of it, LF or LDL or cable co. ident, but it returned late evening June 3rd...

Everything Else TWC / Re: General TWC Discussion

Does TWC not understand that because they choose to keep their logo on screen at all times during programming that they cannot keep putting text behind their logo? Why don't they understand this? it's annoying

I was thinking the yellow book was, well, a YellowBook.
I was thinking that too because they do have a telephone behind the desk behind where they sit...

Well why does the rapid share does not let me download and you have to reupload does files but use the uploader on this site.
If nobody downloads a file from rapidshare for x amount of days, then the download is removed... If you want him to reupload them, I would recommend contacting him privately through PM, unless he specifically says don't PM him.

Jesse, one question. It looks to me like you reverted the site back to how it used to be, with the text containing portion taking up a considerably smaller portion of the screen. Is there any way you can re-widen it, so that it takes up more space again?
It's actually the same exact size it was before... I didn't touch that portion... I'm comparing the two and they're the exact same width (708px)  try clearing your cache and reloading the site

if you're talking about the footer, that's a simple change I can do for you.

Banned because your username is still TVTunerGuy even though you say that you're "formerly TVTunerGuy..."
Banned because I have no idea who the hell you used to be...

Looks great! But just out of curiosity, why is there a menu tab with the date on it? :dunno: While I think having the date on the site is a good idea, it doesn't seem like it should belong as a menu tab.
I needed something to fill that spot because I couldn't put a dropdown menu there because it wouldn't come out right as there wouldn't be a top border on it for some reason...

I have sent the files over Gary's way... As soon as he can, the update should be up soon!

There is one change on the main page, Gary, I need you to update...

In the main page, search for:
Code: [Select]
<p><A href="javascript:window.alert('There are known issues that go along with using Internet Explorer in viewing TWC Today.\n\nThe only issue as of this time is the CSS drop down menu system. If you are using any browser that is not IE, then you have nothing to worry about. If you are, however, using IE, then you will not get the full effects. You only have 6 links at the top of your screen to choose from that will help you out in getting you around the website. Also, there will be a select 6-8 links at the bottom of the page for your convenience on Internet Explorer. If you would like to avoid this inconvenience, I recommend using a different browser, like Firefox or Opera.\n\nWe promise you, we are trying workarounds and are working around the clock as best we can to resolve this issue and, hopefully, it will be fixed sooner rather than later.\n\n We, again, apologize for this inconvenience, and we hope you enjoy your visit at TWC Today.');"><font color="red"><b>IMPORTANT: Notice for Internet Explorer users - Please Read!</b></font></a></p>
And replace the notice with this:
Code: [Select]
<p><a href="javascript:window.alert('Update - January 24, 2008\n\nThere are known issues that go along with using Internet Explorer version 5 and 6 in viewing TWC Today.\n\nThe CSS drop down menu system has been reworked and overhauled in a sense for cross browser compatability to increase the ease of use of the site. If you are using a browser that is not IE versions 5 and 6, you have nothing to worry about.\n\nIf you are, however, using versions 5 or 6, then you will not get the full effects. Some users are reporting a bug that shows that no menu popup occurs, some users are reporting  that the menu pops up, but while the popup is active, there may be some distortion in the info below, but it is resolved once your menu popup disappears (meaning stop hovering).\n\nThe select 6-8 links that appear at the bottom of the page has now been activated for all browser types...\n\nWe promise you, we are trying workaround and are working around the clock as best we can to resolve this minor bug and, hopefully, it will e fixed sooner rather than later.\n\nAgain, we apologize for this inconvenience and we hope you enjoy your visit at TWC Today!');"><font color="red"><b>IMPORTANT: Updated message for Internet Explorer 5/6 users (excludes IE 7+) - Please Read!</b></font></a></p>
All should go well :) Good luck Gary, and I hope everyone enjoys this update!
