Intriguing.... the Android (at least for 4.0+) app is still on 3.6.3... I don't know, however, if they utilize a different versioning platform though.

They're slowly making changes to the studio, I honestly do have to say, I like the direction the HD studio is going thus far. I like the progress.

I dont use www.twctodayforums.com/forums and never have

Neither do I...

Also, in the main site, in the Firefox extension Pentadactyl, it does not allow me to use the CSS navigation menus with the hints feature. I just thought you should be aware of this:

Thanks for the heads up. Thats odd

This is not something that is fixable I'm afraid. It's neither the extension's or our fault. It's just how CSS is in today's world. Sorry for the inconvenience.

IMO, they should postpone the Grammys. It'll just be too sad. What is really eerie is that early this afternoon, Whitney Houston's I Wanna Dance With Somebody came on the radio (WRBQ 104.7), hours before she passed. I have the same sadness and disbelief that I had when Michael Jackson died. Just seeing her picture on the TV with the dates just does not look right. This is absolutely tragic. And she was so young.  :(  :o And this was just a week after Don Cornelius committed suicide.
They're not going to postpone the Grammys... They may make a tribute for her during it, but I don't see them postponing it.

General Discussion / Re: Congress drops SOPA and PIPA (for now)
« on: January 22, 2012, 02:12:42 AM »
If only we listened to George Washington when he said not to make political parties

In the current state of Washington, I completely hate this country. Sure... it's better than many, but they aren't even representing the majority of their citizens anymore (in my view, that is). It's all about their fat paychecks... not what matters for this country.

Honestly, if people don't understand politics and candidates in their entirety, then they should not be allowed to vote.
I understand politics to a point, however, if I don't know either candidate on a specific office position, I will leave that selection blank when I go to vote. I don't blindly vote.

Well, as we've reached midnight on January 18, 2012, some sites have been blacked out (as Zach has mentioned above) to protest the SOPA.  Wikipedia is among one of many sites participating in this protest, so don't count on it for any last-minute reports today! :P

What does everything think about the protest and act in general?

The Weather Center is shut down in protest as well. I'm no fan of the bill, but I understand both sides of the coin.
The TWC Today site is down for the day in protest, with the forums going down from 8pm-midnight.

General Discussion / Advanced Degrees That Don't Pay Off...
« on: January 03, 2012, 10:13:41 PM »
Something to think about...

Quote
Grad students are making heavy investments of time and money in their future income prospects, but in many areas of study the odds are stacked against the gambles paying off. A Georgetown University analysis identifies the advanced degrees that gave students the smallest pay bumps.

If you're currently in grad school for meteorology, studio arts or petroleum engineering, you may want to stop reading right now, think happy thoughts and enjoy the rest of your winter break.

Daily Finance relays the findings, which say meteorology grads could only expect to make one percent more, while studio arts upped their salary prospects by three percent and petroleum engineering students did so by seven percent. Other sucker bets included oceanography, mass media and advertising/public relations, which hovered near 11 and 12 percent bumps.

Meanwhile, health and medical preparatory programs paid off the best, upping graduates' salaries by 190 percent.

My big redecorating project.  Almost three months here and I'm still finding new things to do to give me a backache.  :)

Everything on the top shelf on the right shelves got moved to the bottom to make way for the stereo, which had previously been clear across the room... and behind me.  Well, I had enough of that, so I moved it closer... and in front of me, which is more logical, I think.  So much unplugging and replugging, unwiring and rewiring...  But it's done.  :)

That was my last school where I would get written up for talking w/o permission but yet the weak could be slammed into doors and kicked like trash by the class bully and he doesn't get jack.
Sadly, there's only so much they can do nowadays...
