Paid under $2 to get my Start Menu back. I have no regrets. I do still use the Start Screen though.

Oh good, another "lifestyle" network. We definitely don't have enough of those!it's probably going to be a carbon copy of Spike TV, thought provided by SpringRubber.
Microsoft is one of the largest software companies in the world. It's not going to go under based off of Windows 8 sales alone. Windows 8 may get negative attention like Vista did, and they would recover with the next OS release like they did with Windows 7.I am not a fan of Windows 8 - it seems more suitable for a tablet. In my oh-so very humble opinion, Microsoft is taking a gamble with this. If sales don't come through as they hope, Microsoft may face some really hard times ahead - I wouldn't be half-surprised to see the company go under.
Wow, that's a bold statement. You don't really think that can happen do you?
Speaking of going under, I don't get why folks including Apple are surprised the new mini iPad isn't selling as well as they expected.
Morning Rush LogoThat's a slide from WUWA believe it or not so it could or won't be that.
I feel like it's just going to be an Irene event. People think there's going to be snow, but it won't be cold enough for that. All of my talk shows are going to be preempted which are going to piss me offI love the extended coverage, but I don't like how TWC solely focuses on the storm and neglects other weather and storms across the country. I like their incentive to raise awareness, but I don't want them to overhype the storm, either. It's not like a major hurricane going to NYC or anything. I know there is potential for widespread power outages and all, but I get an apocalyptic feel from TWC sometimes when they go into these extended coverages. This is one of the largest potentially devastating storms the NE has seen in ages. I think its justified for them to focus on it although it would be nice for them to mention other weather. The public needs to be aware of the significant potential for a huge event.
Wow, that sucks for those affected. I, too, am still seeing Heather as of this afternoon so she'll probably be working until the end of the month. Didn't Jeff also report live in Birmingham when the tornado was very close but just missed the downtown core back in last April? That report was quite noteworthy, it was all over YT and several news stations. I wish the best of luck to those 3Their salaries could also be a playing factor in this decision as well... You have to keep this in mind.
I've been working a teleprompter when it crashes, it is NOT a pleasant feeling for me and I can only imagine what it's like for the anchor. So, scripts are necessary. Some stations use iPads now, to conserve papers. But hey, iPads are still technology.I understand the difficulties, however when you're doing a live shot, don't hold all of those papers and wave them out, as it's a distraction, when your live shot is a few seconds away, then put the papers away somewhere and reference them if you actually NEED to on air. I'm just speaking from an honest standpoint - it's distracting. My disabilities prevent me from being focused on one thing if there's a major distraction around.... If the newscaster is trying to say something all the while waving a huge stack of papers in my face, I won't pay attention to the newscaster, I'll be watching the stack of papers moving around.
But, I agree that it doesn't need to be in "stacks." Perhaps fold the papers in half. I know those scripts aren't very wide.
