Baby-faced boy is father at 13

BOY dad Alfie Patten yesterday admitted he does not know how much nappies cost — but said: “I think it’s a lot.”

Baby-faced Alfie, who is 13 but looks more like eight, became a father four days ago when his girlfriend Chantelle Steadman gave birth to 7lb 3oz Maisie Roxanne.

He told how he and Chantelle, 15, decided against an abortion after discovering she was pregnant.

This bothers me a whole lot. The boy looks like he's 10, the girl looks like she's 13. I swear. Kids this young should not be having sex, but, if you're going to, at least have the audacity to wear a condom. The problem with schools is they teach abstinence only sex education, which does not work. If they taught about contraception and condoms, there may be far less teen pregnancies.

I really don't have much else to say. Thoughts?

I am completely surprised that you could still get this number as it's not in service in most of the country.

I think that this weekend I am going to begin adding some flare to the menu system, no not a literal flare like you see in the LDL effect, maybe pizazz is the right word for it... I will also be working mostly non stop on trying to GET THE MENU TO WORK IN INTERNET EXPLORER... This is my hope and my main focus... This will involve the following process on my part of coding to start to work on this....

1) remove all menu CSS in the style sheet
2) rewrite the bare standalone first glance stuff first with just "main" "music" "videos" etc....
3) start to work on the hovering effects
4) write the code for the popup styling
5) pray real hard that it works in Internet Explorer
6) tweak what needs to be tweaked
7) take screenshots of the design in progress (I lost my hosting so I have to work on it locally and can't upload it for users to test)
8) if all is good, and approval from the community is positive, I ship the files off to Gary and he gets them up as soon as he can.

I cannot give a time frame, because that would be too much pressure on my part, and that tends to lead me to rush, and rushing leads to catastrophes so... Yeah. The earliest I can get started on working on this is Sunday. I am 100% unavailable Saturday due to pre-existing plans (haven't hung out with my best friend in over 2 weeks, and we wanna catch up and stuff) and Friday is my family day so Sunday I'll get started since I'm most likely going to stay in (it's too darn cold out to do anything! :brr: :brr: :brr:)... So I ask for all of your support when I'm working, and heck! I may upload "work in progress" shots (this will include double/triple/quadtruple/*uple posts sometimes but meh) and stuff so... yeah! Let's get this party goin'!

It's now 6:04am, I'm tired, unable to sleep, and I think my post is becoming a ramble above so I'm gonna try to go to sleep now! I wanted to let you all know what was up... :)

Texas death row inmate pulls out good eye, eats it

Jan. 9, 2009 01:39 PM
Associated Press

HOUSTON - A Texas death row inmate with a history of mental problems pulled out his only good eye and told authorities he ate it.

Andre Thomas, 25, was arrested for the fatal stabbings of his estranged wife, their young son and her 13-month-old daughter in March 2004. Their hearts also had been ripped out. He was convicted and condemned for the infant's death.

While in the Grayson County Jail in Sherman, Thomas plucked out his right eye before his trial later in 2004. A judge subsequently ruled he was competent to stand trial.

A death-row officer at the Polunsky Unit of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice found Thomas in his cell with blood on his face and took him to the infirmary.

"Thomas said he pulled out his eye and subsequently ingested it," agency spokesman Jason Clark said Friday.

Thomas was treated at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler after the Dec. 9 incident. Then he was transferred and remains at the Jester Unit, a prison psychiatric facility near Richmond southwest of Houston.

"He will finally be able to receive the mental health care that we had wanted and begged for from Day 1," Bobbie Peterson-Cate, Thomas' trial attorney, told the Sherman Herald Democrat. "He is insane and mentally ill. It is exactly the same reason he pulled out the last one."

At his trial, defense lawyers also argued he suffered from alcohol and drug abuse.

Thomas does not have an execution date.

The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals in October upheld his conviction and death sentence for the death of 13-month-old Leyha Marie Hughes. Also killed March 27, 2004, were his wife, Laura Christine Boren, 20, and their son, 4-year-old Andre Lee.

Thomas, from Texoma, walked into the Sherman Police Department and told a dispatcher he had just murdered the three and had stabbed himself in the chest.

Thomas told police how he put his victims' hearts in his pocket and left their apartment, took them home, put them in a plastic bag and threw them in the trash.

Court documents described the three victims as having "large, gaping wounds to their chests."

Billy has come to me, and we both agree that I should expand the width of the design, maybe double it. It looks a bit too narrow on a wide screen monitor and I was thinking about it but I don't know what others think. Right now  it's 475 pixels wide, which is narrow. Compare it to the forums logo, which is 700 pixels wide. Do you all think I should open the CSS and expand the table out a bit, which would make room to add about 3 new menus to the menu bar... I want to know what others think. Again, I will only listen to the majority, not just 2-3 people.

I have whipped up a poll. It will run for 14 days maximum. You will not see the results unless you vote.

So when did you become interested in The Weather Channel? When did it peak your interest or when did you come across it?...

For me, it would be around when Weather Center came into fruition in March of 1998, back when the temperature maps had a different color key, for instance, the 50's weren't depicted by gray, 60's weren't depicted by yellow... they were originally depicted by shades of green. I still don't know why they changed the scheme as I preferred it better. I also, for some reason, remember the radars on the local forecast using shades of blue instead of shades of green. Maybe I was crazy when I was 8-9 years old...

General Discussion / eBay bans man from selling his soul
« on: December 15, 2008, 07:42:39 PM »
http://www.metro.co.uk/weird/article.html?eBay_bans_man_from_selling_his_soul&in_article_id=445649&in_page_id=2

A musician fed up with his life was today barred from selling his soul to the highest bidder.

Dante Knoxx, 24, offered the "used" item for a starting bid of £25,000.50 or a buy it now price of £700,000 on the internet auction site eBay.

But eBay pulled the listing today with about two hours to go and no bids because it breached one of the firm's policies.

Questions, Comments, Suggestions / Logo ideas
« on: December 05, 2008, 08:40:55 PM »
I'm working on creating a mass array of twc today logos that'll go along with the forums and possibly the site... for instance, you'll see a semi modified version of the logo for storm alert mode, Winter Weather Storm Alert, among other major TWC events... and also I want to create some for the holidays.... However I need your help!

What I need are some major TWC event ideas to create forum logos for... for instance, I'm already working on a Tropical Related Storm Alert logo, a Winter Weather Storm Alert logo... What other major TWC events are there to create logos for?

Also, what other holidays should I create a logo for? I've created the Christmassy-December like logo... What others do you all recommend?

Also! feel free to contribute some images here in this thread for use when I create them, this way, everyone will have contributed. I feel this is a good idea  B)

Go for it guys!
