Man, my STAR has been out since Wednesday morning. I tried e-mailing FPB from their website, no luck. Not good, especially since we had a close call with severe tonight...

So I was watching Cold Case on TNT, and this popped up:

Not too crazy about it, but I knew it was going to happen here in the E.L. and Haslett this year. All channels are already digital (and thus require a cable box for all TVs and TV tuners) in Lansing.

FPB has that just about completely done here, now they're cutting off the analog cable.

Our Weatherscan was just rebroadcasting TWC all day.....so we had 3 TWC channels, HD, SD, and WxScan SD.

That's odd, I didn't know they were capable of overriding Weatherscan's feed with TWC's feed.
They probably could if they wanted to, as it is an Intellistar unit but TWC is more like an emergency feed for Weatherscan, always the satellite feed of TWC. Usually the TWC feed during a time when the unit is rebooting has very low volume of audio and sometimes the video feed would be of higher brightness and/or contrast. Mike might be able to clarify since he is the resident Weatherscan expert. :P

Wow, can't believe there are intellistars in the 30000's now! :o
Is the ID # the #Weatherscan it is to be produced or something?
Basically, the ID number for any IntelliStar (including the Weatherscan IntelliStar) can be used to show an approximate age of the unit. Units from 2003 (which is when the IS was first introduced) are down in the low 20000s. The ID numbers generally increase with each unit that is rolled out. New units are now in the low 30000s, which basically infers that about 10,000 IntelliStar (and Weatherscan IntelliStar) units have been added in the past seven years.
kinda like how, my Intellistar is 23273, but how Weatherscan is 20271, meaning when Weatherscan Intellistar was introduced we still had an XL.

Well, only 1 day of "real class" left before the end of the year, tomorrow being field day and Mon-Tues I have finals and Wednesday is the last day, which means grade-level awards, and the 8th grade graduation. (Meaning Friday is the only real day left.)

Anyone Else's Weatherscan been "Skipping" or the radar go out about 2-2.5 hours ago? My radar went out then by the time it came back, it was kinda "skipping" where both the audio and video froze for a split second.

Now that the year is almost over, half of the school days is full of movies! :D
Yeah. I only have gee... One week and a few days left :) Tommorow I turn in some textbooks, and such. Can't wait to be out of school!
We have about 7 left, normal day's (reviewing for finals) except Thursday, that's field day (what's bad is that there's a 60% chance of rain that day). Then on Monday, Finals for odd numbered periods, and Tuesday, the one's for the even numbered periods, then Wednesday, We have to sit in those hard bleachers for 2 hours for 8th grade graduation, then our respective grade's award programs (small), at least, there's a movie at lunch on the School's closed circuit channel!

How do you guys find out the Local ID for your weatherscan?
The ID in on the Weatherscan boot screen.

Any ways that are visible more often than the once-in-a-blue-moon boot screen?
I don't believe so, unless i'm wrong

Actually, a few minutes ago, the local insertion at the end of the Sherman Williams ad didn't cue, the when it was time for the LF, the SW ad popped on, and a satellite LF for the rest of the LF.

I'm curious as to what they are replacing it with. Though it looks like someone (not trying to point fingers, and it's likely not from someone from this forum) has already edited the "National Feed" section of Weatherscan's Wikipedia article

Quote from: ??? from Wikipedia
A new Weatherscan feed is expected to be launched in 2010 for Dish Network subscribers, to replace The Weather Cast service that had been founded as a replacement for The Weather Channel as a result of a carriage dispute.

Not that I would trust Wikipedia anyway...

Well, FPB is re-aligning some of our HD channels and adding new digital ones this summer, plus the addition on service for ESPN3.com
The HD channels will be taken from random places in the 600s and moved to the 500s (like WDRB is on channel 2, it's HD channel will be 502)
and the FPB Board of Directors has already approved TWC HD  (which would be on channel 532) . Also They will add NFL Network (and it's PPV spinoff, NFL RedZone) and Big Ten Network, the board has yet to approve adding those in HD though.

Trevor, I don't see the fail.

Well, I wouldn't be surprised if DirecTV did the same thing.
But with DirecTV, you actually have a local weather app that cues as the LOT8s so you DO get a forecast.
