Local Forecast / Re: Weather STAR XL Replaced
« on: February 09, 2014, 10:45:34 PM »
Perhaps all the XL's are still being used, but the unit's graphics were just updated to v4?
I doubt it.

I thought I read somewhere that a location with a 4000 is also starting to do this. Don't quote me on that though since I can't remember where I saw it.

Not to step on Tyler's toes (heh), I have a friend in Glassport, PA who says that his headends IntelliStar would report for Penn Hills, PA. He told me after the updates, his IntelliStar stopped displaying an LDL and the locals. So essentially all he sees is the national feed.

Tyler, if you know much could you lemme know? I know your on FiOS so I don't expect you to know much about it on Comcast.

WeatherSTAR Tech Support / San Luis Obispo, CA IntelliStar 2 - LDA error
« on: November 13, 2013, 05:15:19 AM »
Hopefully this is just a bug in the latest release instead of being localized to the unit... but here's the problem. The sidebar is showing local information for San Luis Obispo (tides, UV information, all of that). While thats displaying, the bottom bar doesn't come up and is showing the national weather conditions.

I also don't like the shields on the radar or state routes (white boxes). Looks too ugly. But the concept as a whole isn't half bad. The ad crawl works fine for me as well.

Hate the radar on the SD IntelliStar. I can't even read the cities

Anyone else seeing black video on the SD feed with iStars?

Very impressed so far. Here's my observations:

- IntelliStar appeared to crash on first LOT8s run. The screen started spazzing out.
- IntelliStar 2 updated, initially didn't show backgrounds for the LDL (and side bar). Works now after first local.
- My XL is still downloading conditions and chugging along. Read the time stamp and it's current. So yay, the legacies will live on B)

Any idea on how long these IStars will take to finish updating?

I'm excited for these changes. Everything looks great!

Probably not.  What that does imply is that the SD feed isn't going away - which makes sense, considering the IS2 still isn't rolled out everywhere yet.
The SD feed was never going to leave us. What everyone was talking about was the analog feed, which powers the legacy STARs (I personally think they'll make it. They likely just wont be cued as much. The simple fix is to run the LDLs if they are proportionate to the new format). The IntelliStar and IS2 run on the digital feed  ;)

Just curious, did anyone reply to that email? I'd love to see this program become a reality.

Well. I have no clue where to post this... so I'll post this here. When I try connecting to the website, I get this lovely message. When I "continue at my own risk", the home page loads but something malicious has been downloaded, says Chrome as well as Windows Defender. Anyone else get this...?

Here's the diagnostic report thing from Google: http://safebrowsing.clients.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site=http%3A%2F%2Ftwctodayforums.com%2F&client=googlechrome&hl=en-US

$4.39 on my way home from school today for regular unleaded. The cheapest I could find was $4.29. Michigan's new gas tax is to blame. They upped it $.30 a gallon or so, if I recall correctly. :club:
