So, I just got back from the Haslett High School talent show... except I was not in it nor was I an audience member... I was one of 3 people manning cameras. I'm really taking an active interest in being on TV production next year (which is what viewers of the E.L. and Haslett see on TV every Friday), as weather geek sounds neato to me :P
We just started using the cameras yesterday in TV Media Issues, and this was a new experience for me this evening... taking direction from the director in the control booth, and maneuvering the camera. It was definitely something you need to be awake for and concentrating on...
What channel? XD Is this on my cable system as well? 0_o If so, i'll tune in.
lol, as long as you still view 22842 (only with Comcast), you can see whatever Haslett has on on Channel 22 :)
lol I'm not switching over to Broadstripe. Sticking to Comcast with 22842. So, i'll tune in ;)

And Zach, Happy π π π π day to you, too :bleh:

Everything Else TWC / Re: New Graphics and Icons
« on: March 10, 2010, 08:09:53 PM »
I HATE the new suns and the new thunderstorm icons!!  They look like an elementary school documentary, not to be confused with cartoons or random circular food items!!!  BLAH!!!!  lol  As for the new title banners, they are better for screen real estate and general classiness but they need to get rid of that projection wall if they are going to continue to use them.  Return to the chromakey!

I could not possibly agree with you more.

Anyways, I'm apparently having trouble getting video up on youtube, so...

Edit: here we go...
Intellistar Error- New Icons on Satellite LF

Those icons look ok. I'm just kinda getting bothered with these sudden changes. I still cant get over the old black LDL getting replaced... and the old Istar theme. Boy I miss those days.

Anyways, i'll have to see the whole outcome of this to make my opinion :jerry:

They could be testing the satellite version (which that appears to be).
Yep thats what I would say as well :)
Most likely ;) But it doesnt make much sense to me how it came up behind the STAR, as the Sat. stars arn't hooked upto the mainfeed. So i'm bazzled there :hmm:

That infact appears to be on-air character generator. Watch this video so you'll understand what I am going to say

Now, the Intellistar would have waited until the next LDL cue. It won't change in the middle of the LDL displaying data, auctualy, it wont go behind the old LDL. The old LDL is still on the screen. What this appears to be is a operator error at TWC with a Character Generator system.

If this were to be an new LDL, it would have displayed on the next cue, as I said. Also, as you can see, this new LDL graphic came in much after the old one, but the old one was over the graphic displayed.

People may have their own opinions about it, and I can't change that unless if I just motivated them to not believe my theory. It simply makes sense that it was a Character Generator error over at TWC.
Nobody said a new ldl was debuting... just that one exists and will likely in the very near future. ;) Its obviously being tested and a goof it was shown on air.
It would make sense to be tested on a star, not on the main feed  :bleh:

I heard that all 4000's & Jr.'s are being discontinued by the FCC on March 3rd! Here's the article: http://cuberham1.webs.com/apps/blog/show/2984772-fcc-to-put-weatherstar-4000-and-weatherstar-junior-out-of-service
:censored:  NOOOO THIS CAN'T HAPPEN NOW!!!

Yes, lets also pull the XL and Istar from the market  They basicly have the same features as the 4000 and Jr, just better graphics and faster GPUs and CPUs... plus ethernet. This is a fake, fosho.

I second everyone else. An update to allow new functions and so on would be cool!

The Michael Jackson crap again? The media needs to shut up about him and wait until we know what the most likely cause of death was. Media, this is for you...  :censored:

And Jesse, I fully agree with you

Programming and Graphics / Re: Wake Up With Al

I really want to know what the big problem with Al is... I like him. It could be worse... it could be some other random weatherman from NBC WeatherPlus. As far as I am concerned, Bring in Al and fire all of the other NBC brats and rehire those whome were fired earlier this year... But seriously I like Al  I just hate it on what has become of the Weather Channel overall :whistling: (This is why I put one of my pictures with the "Live by it" slogan, since it's my favorite era in TWC.)
