General Discussion / Re: The Front Porch
« on: June 19, 2010, 11:09:24 PM »
Honestly, I prefer being up late and sleeping in late. Much of the action (things to do, shows on TV, people online, etc) is in the afternoon through late evening, and then it's nice to unwind during the overnight hours. I wish I could sleep in until noon :P
That's my life story :D

I think I may need to stop watching TWC when I fall back asleep after taking my medicine. I put it on as a source for sound. What do I dream about? The icons on my DirecTV LF animating (slowly, though) and I woke up to Trammell.
Good timing to wake up :rofl2:

Programming and Graphics / Re: New HD LDL?
« on: June 17, 2010, 12:37:24 AM »
Actually, it won't. I have learned that the LDA will continue to show (during programming that uses the 33% LDL) even with the HD STAR's 33% LDL (so you will see the left strip of data, not the bottom 5 day forecasts).
Thats got to be about THE DUMBEST thing I have heard of. Does TWC give a crap anymore about the quality of their on air presentation with the ldls? Its bad enough the alert scrolls still go over and our very obvious with the 33% ldl. ~facepalm~
I couldn't have said that any better... TWC is really starting to annoy me now just for those reasons. Now I am happy to not even get the HD feed.

Quite a few laptops at Bestbuy with i7 under 1500
There's the same laptop I saw at Staples, HP Envy, for about $300 less. Still a lot of money. I may have to stick with HP if they are going to give me a ticket for a new computer.
Try going to Digilink Computers in Okemos... they have always been helpful for me  They even gave me a free keyboard since the one I had (Didnt even buy from them...) broke. But they are all caught up in that buisness. If not that, just go to Best Buy or OfficeMax.

Anyone here good with processors? I'm going to be going out to the Staples location in Howell at some point, but the more advice or help, the better.
Intel Quad Core all the way ;) Or i5/7... depends on how much money you want to fork out.

Aspen, Colorado WeatherStar Jr - Blizzard Statement

My appologies for misspelling multiple things, and mixing things up in the statement crawl

Everything Else TWC / Re: TWC Poll

I also rated a 5. I guess I was too generous, should have rated it a 2. I am just mad since they are so off-base with what they should be doing. An example is this oil spill. Yes, it is a big thing, but it is barely even weather related. It seems like they talk about it every 2 minutes :wall:

I love wearing hoodies.  Nice and confortable.  Not too heavy and not too light.
I wear a hoodie no matter where I go, and no matter what the temp is. I've never noticed it was a fasion trend since I have never seen anyone else wear them here

The clock has been a thing since the launch. It was used on the first Star, but, that's just old TWC. They are simply cutting corners nowadays for ad space or other stuff. But I dont see why they wont insert a simple clock :pinch:

For being that old, I thought they would be huge.  They don't look that big actually.
I'm posting in a somewhat old topic, but i'd just like to point out that they are probaly twice the size of a WeatherStar Jr. If you dont know that, it may be 1 1/3 the size of a Motorola DCT2000 feed decrypter.
