TWC Today News / Re: Profile Modifications
« on: July 07, 2010, 03:17:26 PM »
Hey Tyler... I noticed that when you can select your STAR in your profile. you have the IntelliStar 2 and the regular IntelliStar. I thought I read something on some other forums on the internet that if the company has TWC HD, they need to Intellistar 2 (That is, if I read your post correctly). So, how would that work if people had both? (And it may have been dslreports.com).

OCMs & Personalities / Re: OCM Layoffs
« on: July 06, 2010, 02:32:29 AM »
Sorry  if I seem harsh here, but I just have to let off some steam...

Geez, another layoff? How about lay off Vivian Brown, Jeff Morrow, Mike Seidel, Nick Walker and Carl Parker while they're on that.

Seriously, all TWC seems to care about nowadays are Stephanie, Jim, Jen, Adam, and Al. Might as well just have a channel consisting of those five and fire everyone else.
Well, from TWCs fine example they set, i'm sure it'll be that way. Now, I will say this. If they get rid of Stephanie, Vivian Brown, or Jim, I am just going to quit watching TWC all together. They are indeed my favorite personalities on the network, and there oubviously are more, such as Samantha and Mike. What TWC is doing is garbage, just like their programming.

I have confirmed that Bill Keneely was let go

That's a terrible shame.  WHY does The Weather Channel keep letting its long-time and talented staff go?  It's for the sake of younger and "fresher" faces who identify with a "younger" and "more hip" viewing audience.

The Weather Channel shouldn't be trying to compete with MTV, but it does...
How does The Weather Channel compete with MTV? I don't really see the connection there

Sad to see Keneely go, but as I stated before, not surprising.
It's a shame to see him go, but when he said with MTV, it's symbolism for other big networks... or so, that's what I think. TWC needs to stop cutting the good personalities and get working on what the network is there for... the weather. I don't want to watch "Flick and a Forecast", or any more of their related garbage. I just want to see the weather, that's it :hammer:

Hey Mike and Vic! Yes, all has been great. Sorry I haven't spent more time here. I got a new job back in March and thats been making it really hard to find time to get on here. Sometimes I work in the morning, sometimes in the evening, sometimes all day long. But I'm gonna try my best to get on here more.  B)
Great to have you back Gary! Glad things have been going well for you :)
I concur! I've been following you on Facebook. You seem to be having a good life (Most of the time, that is :bleh: ). But yes, I am ecstatic to see you're back, Gary!

Justin Beiber is going to be the next Michael Jackson. It's ridiculous. Plus, his music (and any music from this current era) is TERRIBLE.
Nah its just a fad that will burn out. Remember Jonas Brothers? I dont think anyone cares about them anymore.
Greetings from Iowa!
They better not! I'll get Mickey Mouse from South Park to kill them! (If you saw that South Park episode :P ) And as for Justin Bieber, no one here really likes him except for those wannabe girls at my school... just stupid music.

Hmm... has anyone seen Microsoft's Kinect thing? I want that so bad! But, does anybody know if it will work with the older 360's? ("Older" meaning after the slim one that was just released).

From the XBox website...  http://www.xbox.com/en-us/kinect

Quote
You are the controller
Kinect brings games and entertainment to life in extraordinary new ways – no controller required. Easy to use and instantly fun, Kinect (formerly known as “Project Natal”) gets everyone off the couch.  Want to join a friend in the fun?  Simply jump in.  And the best part is Kinect works with every Xbox 360®

I'm kind of interested in it, I just don't know if I'm ready to fork over $150 for it when I can get the whole Wii console for $199. It'll really depend on the games available for it.

The 360 Slim costs 299$ from Best Buy, and the Kinect bar costs 150$. thats over 450$ (Including tax). I'll just stick with my 360 Pro. Works like a charm still (despite the fact that I left it on over 48 hours once). Speaking of that, aren't they supposed to turn off after 4 hours with the Zepher motherboards and up? :dunno:

I'm finally done with moving!  It took a lot longer than I thought, but I'm now all settled into my new apartment.  Hope all of you are doing well this weekend.

Great to hear that dude! :) And so far my weekend consisted of GTA IV... so I guess I was pretty occupied :bleh:

I have the Jasper motherboard in mine, which is the latest board out from Microsoft with 1 I/O port and 2 USB ports... so if someone knows if the the Kinect would work with mine, I would love to hear that :) Since I know we have some heavy videogamers here...

And also, sorry for the sudden topic change :P
