The flashiness of it is really cool...but maybe a bit too much.  Flying suns and moons, spinning cubes and what have you are a little much.    Also, isn't it assumed that when the clock is displayed next to the temp that the temp is the current reading?  The flipping between NOW and the temp is not needed.  The whole thing looks good but I still prefer the old blue LDL.  Simple and not too distracting but still showing pertinent information.

Agreed with the blue LDL. But, I also love this LDL on the I2.

If TWC really wanted us to debug this STAR, they would have put one in Philadelphia and other places with concentrated TWC fans. It's up to the headend to report any major issues and what not. I am positive that they will take our input into consideration as well

I really do like the little videos durring the forecast. Better then the IntelliStar 1 in my opinion, but I wish that there would be sound effects to accompany them... like they did on the IStar 1 along time ago. I liked that much better. The background is ok... but it still needs some fine tuning to me. I also don't care for the transitioning. I did like the transitioning on the alpha. Some things that should be worked on for sure (Wow this whole post was very choppy )

okay, so I've been on time warner's  about this...and they seem to have no solution to it, but maybe someone here does.

I have roadrunner here at my house in San Antonio, and my internet modem drops it's connection often and refuses to reboot for hours even after a forced reboot on the modem itself, and it can never reestablish a connection once it drops. after spending time rewiring everything, it finally reestablishes a connection...i've replaced all the wiring and it continues to drop the connection.

anyone have a clue why this happens?

i should note that I have returned about 5 modems referring the issue as a "defect", but obviously it isn't.

This was happening to mine, too. We called AT&T and it turned out that some of their equipment on the phone poll was completely rusted out. That may be the case with you. It didn't take long for them to fix it. About a 30 minute job

Will it be more regional then the older sd ones?

will comcast need one at each super head (that are used for 4-5 citys) in the Chicago area? Yes the SD starts list 3-4 on the same line in the forecast.

Can this be used for Weather scan HD? Weather scan dish network?

Will there be Dish network and Directv HD star? they have SD starts?

To answer some questions...
1. I don't know.
2. WeatherScan HD? I don't think they will be worrying about WeatherScan for a while.
3. They already have had their HD STAR for quite some time (The sat. one? Correct me if I mixed something up here)

I am underwhelmed.

EDIT: I think I just need to see this in person.  It just looks so dark - and feels more like a fan recreation that something official.

I have to agree. I think that there could have been more work put into it. I mean, I like that it has an animated background, but I think there could be more details. Just my opinion

I just can't believe they were actually charging 30 dollars for a "bumper". It was a giant rubber band for pete sakes. Glad they are getting a lot of negative reaction for not admitting the problem. Granted its not a big deal but nice to know. I held off for a little while to get my iPhone 4

Just why I am never buying another Apple product. They are sleazy ripoff artists. The only thing i'll buy from them is a new iPod. That's all... never an iMac. I am not paying over 1000$ for an overpriced hunk of plastic Besides, OS X runs fine on my PC.
