I thought it was 14 years and 9 months in MI.Ohh wait, you are correct for drivers ed
From a programmer's viewpoint, I can appreciate the amount of work it likely took to do this. Looking at it that way, it is quite impressive.I agree 99.99%. I like the 36 hour weather graphics. Thats what is making me (partly) excited about seeing this STAR. I do agree that there is way to much information on the screen at one time... thats something that I really don't like. I'd rather watch SD over the I2 so I can get all of the weather info for my area. The almanac animations are ok. I don't dislike them nor do I like them.
From a viewer viewpoint, however, I don't like it (shocking, I know). First of all, there is too much information on the screen at one time. So I often don't know what to look at.
The screens go by way too fast. Their programmers and testers must be really fast readers!
My biggest complaint, though, is the needless "flair." When I say "flair," I mean things like the animated picture of what weather will be like in the 36 hour forecast and the glowing line that goes across the tops of the yellow bars on the hourly forecast. And then there's that REALLY bright sun that "rises" on the left in the Almanac. Wow! I half expected puppies and kittens to come out and start licking the screen. Seriously, keep it simple. Less is more.
I work for Bledsoe Telephone in Pikeville TN we still use a 4000. sometimes I have to powercycle it because it will get stuck on the locals.Wow! if I may ask, what does "powercycling" mean?
That I also agree to....More special ed teachers are needed as the population with special needs is increasing.I strongly disagree. There are no more special needs students today than there were ten years ago... it's just now we consider so many things "special needs" its ridiculous.
I thought Forecast Earth has been around since 2005If I can recall, 2004 or 2005
It's funny how here, they aren't cutting teachers or anything, but they are moving them all around and closing schools. Two elementary schools have been closed, one middle school is for 5-6th grade, and the other one is 7-8th grade. Thank god I don't need to move schoolsMore special ed teachers are needed as the population with special needs is increasing. This has been a growing problem in my area and part of it is under investigation. State seems to be finding fraud and people abusing the money. While its important to maintain as many positions as possible, including special ed, special ed deserves to have cuts just as much as regular positions. It should be equal.
I think Martin mistyped, it costs me $2199.99 per megabyteUgh I know!Text Messages Cost $1310 per Megabyte. Its crazyWe have gone way off topic but I like it
In the U.S., I have Net10, so I pay 5¢ to send/receive a text message. In Russia, I had Tele2, and paid 45 kopeks (2¢) to send a text message and nothing to receive. For calls: 10¢ a minute in the U.S. to send/receive and 95 kopeks (4¢) a minute to send. So, the difference isn't huge - both Net10 and Tele2 are budget carriers, but I do miss not having to pay for incoming calls/messages.
Yeah, we're off topic, but so long as forum management doesn't yell at us, I don't think we're hurting anyone.

Wow... I just noticed I have about 7 more weeks of my summer left... it did go by quickllyI think all of you have brain damage or somethingIt definitely has. While I do want it going by so I can see my friends again, I'm enjoying it while it lasts.Summer has been FLYING BY!
There are so many other bands I can't stand, including Brokencyde and The Insane Clown Posse. The folks at Hot Topic seem to love it.Of course they love it... since no one else does (at least, that's whats in my book)
Just what I don't wantSummer has been going by slooow for me. That's good a bad..good, because it's SUMMER. Bad, because I am taking online classes and have 12 loooooooong days of it to goYeah, I'll agree. This summer has gone slow. But once August comes around, before you know it... school will finally be in session. (Oh noez!)
As far as I'm aware, the UK channel didn't use any WeatherStar technology.Actually, I believe they did. I think they may have used the 4000 in the past. I can be wrong (Since I am not even in the UK), but I saw somewhere talking about it. Google it... maybe you'd find something
