Who wants to bet Comcast/Xfinity will buy most of the istar2's?  :D
Doesn't TWC have a contract with the manufacturer to keep building them for a certain ammount of time

Yeah, I don't get why people believe any of this "Friday the 13th" stuff. It's just like any other day for me...

Well my cousin got kicked out of school today. He left his classroom and came into mine. He seemed to have a bone to pick with the guy sitting behind me. He came skipping in and said "Hi" and proceeded to beat him up, with markers in his hands to prevent his hands from breaking. Our teacher tried to break it up but they continued, they eventually got pushed into a lamp, breaking the (fluorescent) bulb in it and screwing up the lampshade, as teachers apprehended him, his necklace broke, spilling those little white "shark teeth" all over the floor. As the kid he beat up left the room, he was in the teacher's hands and said "You don't have to hold on to me, i'm not going to do it again." I'm scared of him now. I used to like to hang around him, but now, I want to be as far away from him as possible.
Little brat needs to go to the local detention home!
If that happened here in my district, they would be expelled district wide if I am correct. They have a zero-tolerance fighting policy, which people seem to not care about. In a way, the zero-tolerance policy annoys me. It's good for various reasons, but the district is way to uptight about the simplest things. I mean, seriously? They will get mad at you for the simplest things.

And while I am on the subject, I can't stand how the district also won't regulate the work load they throw at the students... which I have noticed to become a problem nation wide. I'd say that on average last year, i'd be assigned over 10 pages or math work alone... a night (maybe about 50 questions per page. 50x10=500, so 500 questions in math alone a night. That's a little too much in my opinion. Now, I can go on with this subject about the work load for a long time, but long story short... there needs to be limits on the work load. Just my opinion.

Quote
"The United States is among the most homework-intensive countries in the world for seventh- and eighth-grade math classes. U.S. math teachers on average assigned more than two hours of mathematics homework per week in 1994-95," said LeTendre. "Contrary to our expectations, one of the lowest levels was recorded in Japan -- about one hour a week. These figures challenge previous stereotypes about the lackadaisical American teenager and his diligent peer in Japan."
Source: Penn State

As I would kill for that little amount of math work, I get more then 4 hours a night. So 20 hours of mathematics work per week for me, last year. I basically gave up on that class since I couldn't maintain a good grade in other classes...

Now I am sorry that I went a little overboard on that subject, but that's what I feel.

General Discussion / Re: Traffic lights

Just FYI cameras like these are not red light cameras. Only traffic monitoring cameras.

Here is what we have in our area. These are red light cameras. If its a huge box, its a red light camera! haha

Do I see Smokey Bones in the background, to the left? :bleh:
Anyways, we only have the traffic monitoring cameras here. None of those ones in the boxes, and all traffic control is provided by Federal Signal as far as I know (for my area).

TWC and your Cable Company / Re: Comcast Sucks.
« on: August 08, 2010, 03:42:54 AM »
And LocalOnThe8's I think they only have the satellite version. IDK yet.
Whoa a cable company without the money to carry a STAR but can carry TWC?

As for the digital thing, just get a DTA from Comcast. They shouldnt be expensive and then your channels should be back
The DTAs are indeed free. I got two of them for free. It allows you to view the lower frequencies that are digital (100 and lower, or what the headend tells them to decode...) They are NOT TiVo friendly, but they do the job.

I just tried out RockBand for the first time today during my visit to my sister's house. It's addicting. I'm better at singing than the drums. lol
I have it for my PS2, and I can understand that. You need ALOT of concentration... and I lost the CD for it... and the guitar receiver :bleh:

Yep. A cord was hanging out of the socket, but was in the socket enough to get an electrical charge. Sadly, the outlet was behind a long curtain, which over time, cued a spark from the exposed prongs, starting a fire. Even more sadly, no one was home, and no one would be home for the next 3 hours, leaving the family dog to burn.
I feel bad for the poor dog as that sounds like it could have all been prevented with a little more electrical safety and care on the part of the owners.
I feel terrible for that dog! As I am a animal lover, that is very sad to hear :(

TWC and your Cable Company / Re: ATT U-Verse and STARs...
« on: August 03, 2010, 01:53:55 AM »
:censored: AT&T! I will never lay eyes on their company until they install STAR systems, (which, looking at their forums, probably won't happen.) They are a greedy company who only cares about making money and not the satisfaction of their customers.
Well I guess that their system is a little... different then fiber optic/cable... I also heard that they haven't made money off of U-Verse yet... which both are lame excuses I heard. They are a huge company... but I guess they won't really care.

Their customers were used to local conditions (That is, if they had Comcast, Cox, etc. and not Satellite). They would probably wonder what happened to their local forecast?
