I agree with all of you guys lol. Is it possible to like science but hate math?
At an elementary level, maybe.. Because math is a main driver in how science works and how science data is collected.

English has always been a weak area for me,

Just imagine how you'd do reading classical Chinese literature without translation, then. :bleh:

Well, I can tell you this: my school district no longer teaches spelling and grammar to its students  instead, they use the CollegeBoard's SpringBoard program in English classes instead of the traditional grammar and literature that should be taught  :ermm:

That curriculum has been in place since my 8th grade year in school and since stepping into 9th grade (because of it), never once have I been taught a new grammar lesson or reiterated on one I've learned in the past :itsok:

Math ftw, yo. :P

But yeah, I seem to favor mathematics and science more than reading and writing.. English has always been a weak area for me.

Mac, just a reminder, but you might wanna move those images to an image-hosting website because those will update.

Anyways, that was surely fast! And we're only 12.5 days away from Hurricane season!

I intended for those to update so the latest information would be there when someone clicks on the thread. And yes, Patrick is right. Maximum forecast winds are 50 mph.
Ah okay. The only problems that we really have with direct linking like that is that when people come to view threads after they have long-expired, the image might be 404'd, marked saying "Out of date", etc.. :hmm:

General Discussion / Re: For those who still own VCRs
« on: May 19, 2012, 06:04:04 PM »
Meh..I guess this is more complicated than I thought. I connected an A/V cable from my VCR's video/audio jacks to the computer's, and I only get audio but not video
It's not complicated at all. All you need is an RF modulator, an S-video cable, and a composite cable. ;)

And the total price of all involved components will probably add up to almost half the price of a basic DVD player. Just curious, but why haven't you made the switch, or at least expanded to have VCR (current unit) and DVD?
Well, I have a DVD player but it's broken. Plus, I seldomly use it but I still use my VCR often. I realize using VCR's in this age is almost obsolete, but I still enjoy the convenience of tapes and being able to record over them compared to DVD's where I just wasted a disc if it records the wrong video.
There are DVDs that you can erase. They are called DVD+RW and DVD-RW. ;)

You're likely better off burning the individual files to DVD. Not sure why you would want them on VHS. :dunno:

Mike if ur doing IT, land a job in Japan. They're in desperate need of IT workers :P
I'd have to disagree with that, only because the Japanese Yen is worth a lot less in value than that of the US Dollar. Thus, you receive less quantity of money just for doing something that could be done over here.

Local Forecast / Re: General LF Discussion

Going off the topic of music... :hammer:

I have noticed recently where TWC's LOT8s bumpers say no more than "And now your LOT8s" and last for about a couple of seconds.  They aren't advertising anything beforehand.  It's possible, though, that some of these are also mixed in with ones that do advertise longform, etc.  I don't know when this started, or if it has been discussed before, but I feel like it's been awhile since we've seen a LOT8s intro without any form of advertisement before it.
They've been doing that for a month or two. It's either a LOT8s intro advertising something, or an advertisement preceding the short intro.
They're also only done like that at the :28/:58 LFs during live programming.. not sure if its the same for longform though
