My gosh, I hope Wunderground doesn't phase out the usage of IATA weather reports and their archives.. those are what I use whenever I make my emulations based off of archived METARs... 
Also, with the acquisition, they did say that active PWS stations would be linked to on TWC's site.
At any rate though, The Weather Channel itself is only a part of TWCC (The Weather Channel Companies), so TWCC as a whole may not be bad versus only looking at the channel.

Usually you'll hear 3-beep narration 3-beep at initial issue of the warning then after the first completion of the product, it will go to the 4-beep pattern until the warning expires. Do correct me if I am wrong.

For a government site, it would be difficult to compromise, and only bringing down the database would do less harm than gaining FTP access and adding malware.*I hate it when webpages in an error state display information like that to the public. Just that database name could open it up as a target for hackers to get into the mainframe.Not really. A database name alone isn't exactly a vital piece of information that a hacker could use.
