Well, to change the subject, I found out how to get the jumbled text out of my Pinnacle tuner!

I just had to switch the recording type from "DVD Long Play" to just "DVD". :D

Here are two videos to differ:

DVD Long Play
"Jung at Heart" by Master Cylinder (The Volkswagen Song) - January/February 2010

DVD
"Viva Las Vegas" by Jonny Ramone on The Weather Channel

Just look at the LDLs, you'll notice the difference if you look closely.

WeatherSTAR Tech Support / Re: TWC/IntelliStar feed frozen - 21873
« on: April 23, 2010, 11:58:01 PM »
I've never seen it happen here. When my Intellistar is out, it's out. There's no nearby Intellistar to switch to.

I've only seen two examples of this happening.  In late 1999 the Boston/Lowell area WeatherSTAR XL wasn't working (actually, this unit never worked properly), so, for most of one day, we saw the Worcester WeatherSTAR XL instead.  Could that really have been the closest unit?  I doubt it, but that's what was chosen.

Then, in early February this year, the Daytona Beach Intellistar stopped working suddenly, and we were switched to the Orlando Intellistar for several hours.

You should check out this video of that exact STAR switching in the middle of the LF.

I'd usually imagine to see a different STAR at first if TWC feeds freeze, but maybe it could have been why DirecTV switched to 24130 back in September?

Can anyone load Facebook now?

EDIT: Back up...

Wow, neat! I think I wrote some stories for the yearbook... hopefully they're included this year.

On another subject, you have got to be kidding me
Hehe, I knew you would comment on that name. Looks like another bad race day though :( (last weekend's race in Fort Worth also got rained out and was pushed to Monday).
Just like 2007 (maybe 08) when all the races got canceled from rain. :(

On another subject, you have got to be kidding me
Yes. :bleh: j/k

lol "InDirecTV" :rofl2:

win.
I should also say I loathe DirecTV. Come on, just Dish, BHN, and DirecTV here? <_<

I soooo can't wait for FiOS.

Also, Comcast is in my area, but just not my neighborhood and they're just like BHN with HD here. :(

Alex, I don't understand why Comcast has taken so long for you to put up more HD channels like TWC.  I've had TWC HD for two years either by Time Warner Cable when I was in NY or by DirecTV in WV now.  I see all these ads portraying who has the most HD channels, and I'm really starting to wonder what's really true.
Patrick, even you haven't seen the worst of it when it comes to those HD ads. I can't tell you how many ads Comcast airs claiming they have more [HD] content and programming than InDirecTV... and there appears to be a fierce battle between InDirecTV and Dish on that same subject. I've only had [HD] channels technically for two months now... but the setup I have on it may be causing me problems.
Aaron, just be happy that you have HD because if I had cable, not satellite, I wouldn't have been able to post all those HD LFs I have on my channel, so maybe "InDirecTV" isn't so "indirect" at all. This is one of the reasons I loathe Bright House, less than 50 HD channels in their lineup here.

To my knowledge, DirecTV is confirmed to carry most cable networks in HD.

Local Forecast / Re: New May 2010 Playlist
« on: April 21, 2010, 05:40:34 PM »
The Daytime and Overnight are the best by far. The Primetime and Morning lists are pretty uneven. Overall, this playlist is good, but not as good as the March/April list.   :itsok: There are so many reuses. I had a feeling that Rockit would come back on. The Harry Potter theme is the worst song on TWC by far.    I don't get the obsession with John Williams by TWC over the past few months. :dunno:
July 2009 over again.

Personally, my pick is "The Gift" by 3rd Force.

DirecTV still has their IS. The only different thing from Dish is no LDL on the LF, in which I really miss. :(

Local Forecast / Re: New LDL
« on: April 21, 2010, 04:28:45 PM »

Then again, I don't believe the national feed without an LDL ever had a clock in it before, anyway, so the way things are now really aren't any different than they've ever been where the clock is concerned.  The clcok was displayed nationally, as far as I know, to accomidate the Intellistar viewers for the brief period of time when the Intellistar didn't display a clock.

Yeah, this is completely true, however with Dish network and DirecTV, they both used a national LDL that had the time cycling through time zones, just like how the temporary national clock was.

OK, I should rephrase, I meant that Dish Network and Directv each used an Intellistar that was national(i.e. not localized).  I know the LDL wasn't part of the national feed.
It never has been until 2010. And IIRC, DirecTV got theirs in 2004 when Dish got theirs in 2007.

The new National LDL is indeed part of the actual TWC feed now. And like Eric said, before the 3/11/10 update, the LDL seen on Dish and DirecTV were from actual IS units, not TWC.
