They're phasing out the jazz.
Yeah I notice that. They have become an urban contemporary or even oldies station. I heard Carribean Queen by Billy Ocean yesterday too. Love that song, but what is remotely jazzy about that song?
They've also been calling themselves "Smooth 98.7" instead of "Smooth Jazz 98.7", which worries me.

"Rainbow Seeker" by Joe Sample isn't on the playlist, but it's on the IntelliSTAR's internal playlist when TWC sends out a weather update for your area.
