General Discussion / Re: The Front Porch
« on: June 19, 2010, 01:57:25 AM »
Hi guys! Just wanted to check back in with you guys. I haven't posted here in MONTHS; my life has been extremely busy for a while. Mostly school, but that's been over for a few weeks, and I've had some time to relax and I've got some more time on my hands now, which is good. :) I will try to be more active here throughout this summer.

Just wanted to stop by - in case you were worried that I died or something. :P
Hi Stephen, welcome back! B)

Could you please add "Satellite" as an option to WxStar fields? (sorry if I'm being too picky lol)

I haven't had time to see MSNBC HD because it just got added to DirecTV last month, and pretty much all news stations except Fox News (who actually letterboxes their SD feed these days) and CNN have 4:3 HD feeds to display extra info. NFL Network HD sometimes does this concept, although they actually shrink the screen more to have a full 16:9 display.

Quick change in subject, but Chris Warren sounds upset at something right now. :(

I don't know what all the complaining is about it's just a playlist. TWC has their favorite artists and we have to live with that.
I agree. Its a decent playlist to me. I have certainly heard better or worst. I would much rather have Ryan Farish then some of the music TWC could experiment with. TWC could step up the variety a little more
I agree. This seems like an okay playlist. In fact, some of the songs I listen to in general are on this list and it's just a simple spice-up to me unlike a total change seeing how I listen to classic rock all the time (and smooth jazz too ).

Well the major thing that sets this list apart from the other two from this year so far is that those two lists included a longtime classic. The March list- "Listening Room" by Jeanne Ricks. The previous list- "The Gift" by 3rd Force. This list does not have anything like that, feel free to correct me if you feel otherwise though.
I would consider "What If" by Anthony James Baker as a classic somewhat, since it played back in August 2005.
Layla is another, too, as it came from 2001.

Geez, will they EVER play COMPLETELY NEW songs? :club:
With the way TWC has been, likely no. There aren't too many instrumental rock songs on BMI and they just want to keep away from the jazz as much as possible.

EDIT: The only reason you see Ryan Farish with new tracks is because he sends new CDs into TWC. If you notice, they've only used his new album "Bloom" instead of reusing older albums like "Wonderfall", "Everlasting", etc.

Since I lost the raw file, I'm going to prep for a double-take of "Rendezvous" by Eric Marienthal by hoping to cap it on HD and re-record the VHS clip.

I'm slowly starting to like the way of TWC's production of stuff, although it isn't as good as it was 2 years ago.

So far I only love my eMachines desktop. The performance could be a little higher, but it doesn't heat up too much. My Vista laptop is a Compaq. That thing heats up easily. And for the HP laptop I got with Windows 7 last Christmas, it runs awesome with performance but like the Compaq laptop, can heat up easily.

I'm anxious to hear the daytime daypart in 4 minutes. :P

EDIT: Sounds like Jay Soto. Very similar instruments to "Miss My Cabana".
