Ah yes, to have satellite for narrationless LFs. One of the reasons I would rather have cable. Just watch it when it rains hard and you're recording TWC with satellite, too.

I don't see the big deal of a clock on the LDL anyways. I always wear a watch when I'm in public and there are like 5 clocks in my TV room. With the National LDL having a clock, local STARs would get two clocks and that would be confusing. You can't put the clock atop because the "up next" cities go there.

Speaking of the HD LF, does anyone know if it's possible to subscribe to Dish or DirecTV and only pay for the HD channels? I'm starting to think I may want to do that once the [HD] STAR rolls out, so I can still catch narrationless clips of songs. I would have to pay for it myself, of course.

SD channels are included as part of the HD packaging on DirecTV.

Right, but wouldn't the titlebars and logo have reverted as well?

I thought the relaunch was in August 2005.

I remember the maps looking like that back in 2005 during Katrina, only thing was the Satellite LF had mix-cased letters in 2005 on the Metro/3-Day/Radar-Satellite map titlebars until the new on-air titlebars were implemented into the Thunderstorm/Precip forecasts, which occurred either in late 2005 or early 2006. I don't know when the textured snow got changed as I never watched TWC much in 2006. So my guess would be when the icons got upgraded.
