Local Forecast / Re: Weather Star XL Part Number
« on: September 29, 2010, 01:47:32 PM »
there are no part numbers.. its just a weatherstar xl, no reason to have a specific part number.

Are these numbers of any significance?:
(Also, could you tell me your XL's number with the barcode?)

Where did you get that image??

It was a google search. Keywords: weatherstar xl weather bug
Those, my dear Watson, look to be IP addresses, and possible server names, not part numbers. Those stickers are made by the IT department of wherever this building is, not by TWC themselves. If you're talking about the barcode with the TWC logo on it, I think that's a serial number to track the machines.

It took me a second to realize but ive seen that photo before and it was indeed at TWC  (hence the 4000 to the left :P)

Zach: Do I have to set my computer settings to thinking it's in America, or does it detect that I am in England through my Wi-fi router?
 thanks for mentioning that! I forgot but it might work if you adjust the time to GMT -4 (or Eastern Time for the US and Canada)

I personally like the LDA and 33% LDL - a lot more information can get conveyed that way.  And, since the regular programming on TWC has decided that weather is allowed to take a backseat at times, it seems like the LDA and larger LDL are the best way sometimes for getting real weather information.

I disagree, the LDA/LDL had to be the worst idea ever created for the HD channel

The Info would be better suited on a 33% LDL but it seems TWC hasn't budged on creating one.
I agree alex.. And plus the 16% LDL is the size of the original IS LDL and the LDA just puts 16:9 programming in 4:3..

Well, I missed the :18 LF, but I will catch the next one.

-EDIT: I think it's just your local app, because mine isn't showing TU-
Well maybe because it occurred 50 minutes prior to your post  ;)

Does anyone know if the LDA and 33% LDL is ever coming back???  It never returned after Earl
Why do you want it to come back? IMO it seems better this way without it

Today marks the 2-year anniversary of the DirecTV LF premiering
And Wednesday will mark one year since the HD DirecTV LF premiered. Kinda ironic, because it came out the day after I left Vermont and the hotel there had DirecTV HD. :P
Speaking of which, is it just me, or is the DirecTV LF still using the '06-'10 icons, and not cueing all the time? That happens to both of the receivers in my house.
The icons will likely not change and as for not cuing all the time dont press exit on the remote  ;)
