I didn't know anyone who had a cell phone until middle school. Scary how 2nd graders have cell phones now.

I didn't have a cell phone until 2004 (well after high school), and I didn't even have the internet until 1999 (around junior year in high school).  I really worry about the responsibilities we're teaching our youth these days.

Im behind on cell phones 

as for me my technology sprawl was a Game boy advance second grade year and my Vista laptop came to me 7th grade year

Once upon a time, each cable network had its own distinct identity and its own reason for being.  Roughly 10-15 years ago, they started to slowly meld into a little bit of the same thing on each network, with just a hint of what previously made each network unique.

For example, "Sci Fi" is now "SyFy" to downplay its previous focus on science fiction.  "The Learning Channel" is now "TLC," and its programming is now lacking in anything that could be termed "learning."  "ABC Family" keeps the word "Family" in its name because it is contractually obligated to do so, but that's where anything "Family" begins and ends.  Fox News and MSNBC are no longer news organizations, but "analysis and opinion" networks, although only MSNBC openly states that.  Basically, it's only ESPN that hasn't changed its focus over the decades.

What about CNN?

CNN isnt NBC owned..

This is the final version but with two quirks that should be unnoticed if you dont have good sight  (no offense to anyone lol)

The XL icons are intentional
The two quirks are the ad crawl gaining speed at the end of it and the first forecast slide has the forecast text fading in instead of the title "Local Forecast"

It looks like the NWS and NHC overestimated this year...

I think you mean underestimated... that can be the case of tropical storms but there were more hurricanes this year than TSs only to be named

I still think they're into news and other crap you can turn to CNN or Entertainment Tonight. Earlier this morning on TWC, some news lady from NBC started talking about Justin Bieber's album. 

News = Views = $$

Not to mention, Longform = Views = $$

I doubt that... the long form slots now are at places when local news is present in the east coast/west coast markets
