I saw a 2-minute LF at 10:28 pm ET last night. It was the first time I had ever seen the daypart forecast on satellite. I just hope it wasn't only because of the severe weather outbreak going on yesterday. They dont air the daypart forecast on the satellite lf unless u mean the DirecTV LF but even then the daypart forecast airs on 90sec flavors
I really doubt that's the reason why.. you have to think about all other STARs as wellWas there a reason behind the sudden discontinuation of the ID screen? It's been around for a really long time.
My best guess is since the Star ID is at the bottom of the IntelliStar they saw no more use for the screen anymore.
I'm not aware of any changes to their studio but the last time I watched the set remained unchangedThe new graphics were unveiled today during the noon newscast. I had recording problems so I wasn't able to capture the opening of the show, (I'll try to do that during the 6pm newscast today) but I was able to capture the new lower display line along with the new weather graphics/icons they're using. I think it looks really great!WTSP (also owned by Gannett) debuted those graphics over a month ago![]()
WXIA-TV's (11Alive) New Look - January 29, 2013 (Noon Broadcast)
I figured other Gannett stations were likely getting these graphics. Out of curiosity, did WSTP also renovate or get a new studio? WXIA debuts their new set sometime in February, they're in a temporary set in the video.

Yeah, but then again, the user who obtained the news is known for spreading rumorsI think the Taiganet post was absolutely false.
I wouldn't call this false yet, Swindam still works at TWC as far i can tell and he is usually active in the Feedback Forums.
We'll see if the 2 minute locals do indeed come back tomorrow.
http://www.pcworld.com/article/2026502/facebook-legal-notice-could-get-you-cash-so-dont-trash-it.htmlI certainly did, and I ignored it. Although I did some research and there's a civil case going on right now where some person is suing facebook.
Did anyone receive this Facebook legal notice in their email accounts?
I had horrible problems with typing lag when I was writing a message just earlier. It got so bad to the point where words would appear on the screen, one by one, about five or more seconds after I typed them. Unfortunately, it's going to be hard to tell if it's my computer or the forums, as my computer seems to be dealing with typing lag as well. The problem seems to be fixed now. That is definitely a problem with your computer (and not the forum) if it's lagging at typing. If it ever happens again just open your task manager and see what's consuming your CPU
It's not listed on the playlists page...I think this song played before, but I'm not too sure. I would like to hear "18" by Moby. Even with the drastic music changes last year, they did still show some love to Moby so I can't see why they wouldn't play this one.It was on the November 2003 playlist.
While the location of the cable headend matters in this situation, you may not realize that Norman (KOUN) is just an AWOS. You see it reporting every 20 minutes, but AWOS stations provide data that can be suspect. However, Oklahoma City (KOKC) has an ASOS, which gives a standard report every hour and is far more superior to an AWOS. By rule, only ASOS stations can be used for climate, and TWC usually defers to an ASOS for the LF when there is a choice between both types of stations nearby because of this discrepancy.Right, but HiRAD is what matters in this, not the factor of an AWOS or ASOS station. Sure HiRAD gets its data derived from nearby weather stations (ASOS and or AWOS) but it has algorithms to detect faulty current conditions and pulls in from other areas and estimates to fix those faults.
That seems strange. Isn't Norman where the NWS office is? Now, I know TWC isn't the NWS, but you would think the forecast Norman sees would be for Norman, the city where the office is.It has nothing to do with where the SPC (not NWS) office is, but rather how the headend just allocates its service area.
