Weatherscan Discussion / Re: Weatherscan Segments
« on: April 22, 2011, 06:04:10 PM »
OMG, the IntelliStar DOES have spanish segments! Does it use the same color scheme (yellow pillar bars) and backgrounds as the English segments?
Yep, all Spanish, same graphics, though no Amy Bargeron or other person doing VO's  :P

The Ocala, FL Cox feed uses a Wxscan from Gainesville, and to my surprise, it had packages dedicated to Ocala/Gainesville for Spanish  they werent narrated in any way though, and even the radar has spanish on it and it is seperate from the other products. (ie GAINESVILLE < OCALA < GAINESVILLE ESPAÑOL < OCALA ESPAÑOL < GOLF < AIRPORT)

WeatherSTAR Tech Support / LDL Cities on IntelliSTAR #22417
« on: April 22, 2011, 05:28:46 PM »
Hello STAR Team, would it be possible for you to investigate the LDL cities in STAR #22417? (Cox of Ocala, Florida)

The cities now are Ocala, Orlando D'town, and Downtown Tampa..

Would it be okay to remove Orlando D'town and Downtown Tampa? Some cities I think would be a good addition would be The Villages, Dunnellon, and Silver Springs, if possible. :)

I saw this STAR today at a relative's house, and it amazed me to see Tampa on its LDL, which is almost 100 miles south of Ocala

Please look into it and let me know (because I dont know when Ill see this STAR again) if you can make the changes.. Thanks again

Zach

The green TWC logo on the IS LDL has the ® next to it. I believe this is the first time that the ® has appeared on the LDL's logo.
Haha, i saw that today on the Ocala IntelliStar, i thought it was my eyes

Thats interesting... because i couldve sworn in a monitor i saw behind Jim earlier the Titan source was on it
Both of the computers I saw today behind Cantore had windows on it. Plus, the keyboard that is below the touch screen controls the computer to the left, which he was advancing the Tru Vu radar on. They are using Titan in the HD studio @ the greenscreen, probably b/c they haven't upgraded those workstations yet. Earlier I saw a monitor on the side desk, looks like they're working on it now.
I didnt say it was a computer in use, but what I meant was a monitor behind him that was inactive, and I wasnt talking about the HD studio chromas in my earlier post either ;)

What are you talking about? Titan is not discontinued... in fact if you saw the monitor behind Cantore, that was Titan...
WSI is trying to get back to windows operating systems. They can still use Titan(If they already have it, which twc does), just WSI may not be selling the product anymore, it has been removed from their website.
I never realized they even used products from WSI.. but rather Vizrt..
* Zach is lost :wacko:

Local Forecast / Re: Song ID Thread
« on: April 21, 2011, 07:35:35 PM »
I'm pretty sure this song is "Over and Over" by Brian Hughes, but the clip on TWCT doesn't quite match. Is there an alternate version or something?

They are both the same song, however, it seems the clip on the site has a different pitch

Our STAR unit has had some vocal local segments interact, in example...
Currently in our area... sevent-your local forecast.
Video? I dont think the XL has that narration for "your local forecast"  also, unlike the IS, i dont think the XL can multitask and launch multiple instances unless the headend mysteriously has multiple XLs connected..

As much as you want the animated icons, I want the Vizrt weather software at no cost..

Also, what do you mean by 'current icons'? The 'current icons' are the '2010 style'...

General Discussion / Re: Commercials You Loathe
« on: April 18, 2011, 09:01:14 PM »
In the Tampa Bay Area, there is a commercial for a air conditioning company called Easy A/C. It has an annoying song "if you want some cold air easy ac is there, 813-cold-air" with an off-key singing, and an off-key samba beat.
I have yet to see it so maybe i should keep my TV set off from local channels after all :P (i havent payed attention to the locals here a lot recently)

Nice! That background kinda reminds me of TWC ID they used in Spring last year with the logo over the green meadow.
Thats exactly what i based it off of :P haha
