Weatherscan Discussion / Re: Weatherscan Topic
« on: March 10, 2013, 11:05:42 AM »
Trevor, the time didn't change because the time change happens at 2 AM local time (meaning 1:59:59 to 3:00:00 ;)). As for the Weatherscan glitches you experienced, those were probably effects of the time change happening on TWC's end (seeing how they're in Eastern time)

Well, I was trying to get on Zach's IRC server but it was probably down. I'll try again next time, and I will have to change that xD
Recently, my IP address changed and it seems that the Round robin IP hasn't been updated (or DNS hasn't  picked up on it yet) but you should still be able to connect to it via zach.dyndns-work.com (even though its a deprecated host, I keep it up as a backup) or there's kitty's server at blizzard.twister-irc.net

Local Forecast / Re: Squeezeback during Long Form
« on: March 03, 2013, 12:07:29 PM »
The problem with the setup above is that on the SD feed it would be fine for the 33% LDL in those situations, but not on the HD feed. On the HD feed, it's not letterboxed so any data on the bottom would get cut off, unlike on the SD feed which is letterboxed

I chose #2, but only for long form purposes

While that format of the squeezeback would be okay for IS viewers, it wouldn't be for all others.. in that time alone, those without an IntelliStar saw maybe about 5-10 cities on the LDL out of all the possible cities, which may have not included their own.

If you had a choice Zach would you like to see the 33% LDL during the whole duration of a Long Form show? or would the Squeezeback be suitable?
Personally, I would just want to see something that I could have weather access with. The way they had the format from January 2011 through July 2011 is fine to me. (16% LDL on at all times; squeezeback on the 8s)

TWC Local on the 8's Squeezeback- Spokane, WA- Oct. 14, 2010- 3:38PM PDT

I wish TWC would use this squeezeback again during long-form, which features the big LDL. Then I think they should use the smaller LDL full time during the rest of the long-form program just like they used to do, instead of cuing the small LDL at :08/:38, :28/:58, etc.

Thanks Jim for posting that, the squeezeback during longform is what i was trying to refer to.

and for those viewers with the IS2 they could finally see the Marine Product on the LDL.
While that format of the squeezeback would be okay for IS viewers, it wouldn't be for all others.. in that time alone, those without an IntelliStar saw maybe about 5-10 cities on the LDL out of all the possible cities, which may have not included their own.

Does anyone miss the 33% LDL and should it return? or do a agree with TWC for removing it?
I feel that takes up too much of the screen during a live segment.  I prefer a smaller LDL.
I really liked the radar on the Large LDL, it would be awesome if the Smaller LDL had the radar on the left side instead of ad space.
Correction: the show title <_< :P j/k because they do sometimes have actual sponsors in the corner spot
