No HD feed in Daytona Beach, so I guess I'll never see it for myself.  :cry3:
Wow, both Central FL brighthouse operations surely are taking their sweet time getting TWC HD onto their lineups

Your Local Weather / Re: Tampa Bay Weather
« on: July 16, 2011, 09:45:22 AM »
Something I have noticed about Tampa weather over the years, is that many times during the summer season, it'll be pouring like crazy on one end of the street, and on the other end, it'll be dry as chip. Today, for instance, it was coming down behind University Mall, around 131st and 22nd, yet when you go on Fowler, there was nothing there.  :dunno:
Oh, i love it when that happens  a couple of weeks ago i was along I-75 getting off at Exit 265 (Fowler Ave) and we ran into a wet area that just received rain, and then when we got to US-301, it was as dry as can be :P

I wish they would remove the extra blue box space on the DirecTV IS's corner ads.. Ive seen it covering up some data on the SLF :hmm:

However, what I dont get is why the Dish STAR doesnt have this box.. the Dell ad running today had the blue box around it in the corner ad on DirecTV but Dish's doesnt :dunno:

(video of it on Dish)

I think that this box is on the DirecTV IS ads because of the DirecTV LF app's window to show the ads and so the animations in the background dont distract the viewer.. but it makes no sense

Are you recording them in HD though? this is just me, but i do not recommend upconverting videos recorded in 480i..  the quality doesnt change, it takes longer to render, and if its not the original quality its wasting space on a hard drive

Banned for apparently frowing up :P

Its unfortunate that as the digital world (internet) continues to grow, the analog world (television and radio) continues to lessen.. my theory about them not preempting is that their TV ratings are low compared to their online services.. Maybe more preempting would happen if their TV services rated higher than their online services.. ;)

Yes, they put too much emphasis on weather.com in their recent promos, but with this economy, they probably have no choice to, as OCMs need less time for them to keep up with payments and so they do not have to worry so much about growing bankrupt. As Mike said, their worry is money, and the only way to attract money is to add more interesting things to channel that will appeal the average viewer, such as Peter Lik's show.
